My body jolted upright.

Nothing like weird-ass dreams in the morning.

Wait, what time is it anyway? I didn't hear my alarm going off.... what?! Crap, I'm Late.

I dressed up and rushed outside of my apartment. I'll just grab a burger on my way. I stopped by a convenience store to buy something to eat. I noticed a group of men in dark-hooded jackets, almost covering their faces. A new gang? Meh, don't care.

Once I bought the burger, I immediately ran off. The clock hanging inside the convenience store made me panic. I am way behing schedule!

"Ow!". I bumped into a girl.

Judging from her uniform, she seems to be attending the prestigious school a few turns away from here. She has a black, silky hair and is wearing glasses which looks good on her..... Wait, what am I thinking? I offered her help in picking up her things but she was already finished while I was admiring her eyes as they glisten in the sunlight.

I realized we've been staring at each other for a few minutes. I felt compelled not to move a muscle, or even speak, finally, I dared to say something.

"um.." Real smart, bro! Real smart!

"Make sure you wake up this time", She winked at me and left.

I looked back and found she's gone. The way she winked at me feels weird.... like we're sharing an inside joke or something. I feel like I should follow her, but why? I don't even know her. But somehow, I feel like I know her. That I've seen that smile before. I've seen those eyes somewhere....

I really should go back now. I'm going to be late if I don't. And so I did what I thought'd be right.

I followed her.

-----

As I was following her, I saw more Black-hooded weirdos along the way. Some ignored me, but most of them looked straight at me. I'm not sure if they did look at me since half of their faces were covered by the hood.

But that weird shiver down my spine told me thay are.

Where am I anyway? I'm sure I'm still in my subdivision, but somehow I feel like I've been running in circles. How many times have I passed by the convenience store?

Alright, I'm lost inside my own subdivision. Man, I'm stupid. I was about to turn back when I saw the girl again as she takes a left turn. I called out for her to wait up when I heard a loud horn beside me.

A sixteen-wheeler was about to ram me flat.

At a split second, I realized I'm going to die. I tried to think of the people I love, but I couldn't remember any because of fear. I braced myself for the impact..... but it never came.

I realized that the truck stopped moving and so did everything else. Even I couldn't move. I just froze in a mid-jump.

How long do you plan on holding on?, muttered one.

You could've gave up long ago,  turned another.

You will only get hurt, little one. It is time to go. Now.

Hands sprouted up from the ground and started pulling me downwards. I tried to shake them off, but their grips were too strong. I felt my efforts were futile. If I stopped strugling, maybe it'll stop.... maybe I should give up.....

No!That voice.... that was from the girl.

You have to get out of there! You have to live!

Is it above me?

You have to wake up!

I tried to look up and reach whatever's above me.

Skye, please!

Then I woke up.
