He suffered because he wasn't allowed to love but he did and his consequence? Never to see love again, locked away.

Our story is set in a faraway land, a place full of magic and potential, good and bad coexist and curses, witches, warlocks and beasts were not just bedtime stories or legends but beings with great power and strength. So I feel this story should begin how they always do.

Once upon a time,

There was a ruthless, powerful king who was touched with the heartbreak of his life when he had found his dear, dear wife had betrayed him and their wedding vows to him and also the nation when he found her in an intimate embrace with his closest adviser. The adviser was banished and she was sentenced to a slow, painful death. Brutal huh? He was truly ruthless, but he of course didn't let his dear, dear wife die in vain as she was to be set an example of. Now all advisors were forbidden from falling in love.

The customs of the king were like so because he saw it as a sign of weakness for a man to be broken in any way; once broke his heart had been in a million pieces and it was now unrepairable.

However, the youngest of the advisers fell for the king's daughter and was punished for this. The king had powers beyond just human superiority for he had the power to wield misery. He cursed anyone who disobeyed him or betrayed his high customs.

The people feared him because he had cursed his former lover to an eternity of misery until her death. The young adviser who betrayed his customs was given a more lenient punishment.

What wasn't known was the young adviser who goes by Adzeus was born from the line of immensely powerful men who held the secret that they possessed certain abilities that were triggered by certain things.

The king's daughter, Ophelia, cried every night her lover was in captive. Until the king's most influential soldier/adviser: Adriano, was her new love interest that she swooned over.

While Adzeus suffered day in day out she seduced her father's men one by one. Her love was temporary while his wasn't; his mind was filled with her, his only saviour that allowed him to endure the pain inflected on him was betraying him in every way that would break him emotionally because the physical was already done, however, he didn't know. And what you don't know simply can't hurt you.

Then one day when the guard had left before spitting directly into Adzeus's face.

Adzeus felt his body inflamed from within, it was heating up the surface of his skin like he had been showered with a thousand hot rocks, he screamed out in agony. His eye lips had been glued together from all beating, they had become puffy. Tears rolled down his face from the pain that he was feeling. The tears dropped into a pool of his blood. A shimmer rolled over in one swift ripple over the surface turning it crystal clear for a second. Adzeus could see his reflection for a second. His fragile body was before him in bloody clothing, he saw his own pain. At that moment his eyes changed from a deep blue to a golden glimmer. The curse had begun, it was growing over his body gradually and painfully. He crawled into the corner of the small cell dragging the metal shackles that restricted his ankles and wrists.

He cursed loudly as he struggled to fight himself but he was weak so it took over him igniting his inner beast. The monster ripped the chains from the metal clamps that were rooted into the wall. The beast smelt around the small cell then charged at the bars that were lengthed to keep in the most dangerous criminals including the ones that commit the deep sin of love. With two tugs at the metal bars, they snapped in two.
