"And I care about this because???" I gave him my weird look.
He smirked and faced me, eye to eye. This time, he got closer. Only half an inch apart. His blazing brown eyes scanned before me as he got more closer. I backed away and smiled at Jace.
"Hi Jace!" I gave him my best smile and ran up to him.
"Ugh, Hi. What's up?" He gave me a weird look. No, scratch that. He gave US a weird look and glared at Chace.
"I didn't do anything, Jace. So, no punchy punchy for Chacey" Chace joked out. I laughed at his childish behavior and dragged Jace with me. Chace kept on screaming about 'Bros before hoes' but then he screamed again. Which made me smile. 'Wait! Megan's not hoe. Dammit, fine! Go away!' And ran off to a candy bar next to the cafeteria.
I can still remember the time when he's feeling lonely, he'd go to a candy bar and drown himself with sweets. Gosh, Chace didn't change his all persona, huh?
I was thinking about how Chace would drown himself with chocolate when someone broke my thought and coughed. I looked at Jace and gave him my curious look.
"So, what happened back there? I can see my bestfriend in the candy bar munching lots of candies" he joked. I chuckled and had a thought about Chace again.
"Well, he's lonely again. I mean, it's either he's feeling lonely or sad about a childish thought."
"So, he's sad about a childish thought?"
"Yeah. Like, being disappointed because someone didn't let him borrow my notepad and he starts eating candies. That was in 1st grade actually. And man, he's dramatic" I smiled at that thought.
Knowing Chace, he would stay at the rooftop singing Barney songs. Some may see him as a weird kid but because of those memories I was with him, I learned that Chace wants to feel loved by the people he cares about. And I'm referring to his parents.
The school bell rang and made some of our schoolmates to Stand up and go to their lockers.
"Megan, what's your next subject?" Jace asked.
"Trigonometry."
"Well, I have Calculus. See ya later, Megan!" He gave me a pat on the back and waved his hand.
I waved my hand back and went straight to my trigonometry class. James was there sleeping. The teacher was just about to enter the class and James is sleeping already? What a douche.
I sat beside James and noticed that he's not sleeping but texting. Wow. I didn't notice him at first. He's good.
"Okay, let me check the attendance. Marley? Greyson? Seizere? Cris?" My prof stated surnames which led to our surnames. When Chace's surname was mentioned. Everything went silent.
"Could anybody here call Mr. Hayward?" I was shocked. Wow. A teacher wouldn't start a class with a missing student?
"Don't worry. That's normal. Hence, Chace is the number one in his class. And Chace is his favorite. He'll give you an exemption on our next quiz when you get to bring him back." James stated.
"I would like to volunteer, sir" I raised my hand and everybody in our class turned their attention to me.
"Okay, You are now excused"
"Thanks"
I went straight to the candy bar but he's nowhere to be found. I don't even know why I volunteered. Was it because of the exemption? Maybe. I was looking all over for him when I remembered one place which calms himself.
I went straight to the elevator and pressed 7. When the doors opened. I went left and pushed the door. Cold breeze flashed through me and a boy strumming his guitar caught my attention. Of course, it has always been the rooftop.
He sang 'Somewhere Only We Know' and strum his guitar flawlessly. I was listening to his voice when he stopped and looked at me.
"Fatty Megan" he stated. I sat beside him on the grass and looked from afar.
"Of course, I need to be called 'Fatty Megan' again." I smiled.
He laughed and hugged me. I was so shocked I almost punched him.
"Prince Chace missed you, Fatty Megan." He said in a sweet voice. Of course, the sweets. I hugged him back and he kissed my forehead. For once, everything seems so deep.
