SIGNE'S POV
It's been about a month since I started at this school. So far, it was going well. Besides the daily encounters and occasional bullying if Britney and her squad, I have been feeling good. At home, things are just as bad as they've always been. I walked up to the school entrance to see a couple students there. I stopped coming really early, as it made no sense. I pulled down my sleeves. I was glad it was getting colder, since my father's beatings were harsh and leaving bruises and marks. I still have the 11 whipping scars on my back. At least they no longer hurt. I went to my homeroom waiting for my friends. As it got closer and closer to the bell, more and more teenagers came into the classroom. "Hey what's up girly?" I turned to see Amy plopping next to me. "N-nothing much. Y-you," I asked. She shrugged, smiling. Out of the 11 of us (why am I using the number 11 so much? I didn't even notice till now), I was the closest to Amy. Probably because she saved me from the first confrontation of those girls, and because I told her about my anxiety. I remember it as clear as day.

<Flashback>
I had come out of Art, leaning against the wall next to the door. Amy was held back by the art teacher so she said she would be out soon. I heard heels click. Oh god why? Of all times. "Hi, new girl," Britney said, her voice sweet. Too sweet for my liking. "H-Hello Britney," I said, trying to contain my stuttering. It had gotten better, but not by so much. "Oh, I thought people were lying saying you had a stutter. I guess they were right," Hayley snickered. I bit my lip, not talking. "What's wrong? Cat got your tongue," Daisy teased laughing. "P-please l-leave me a-alone," I whispered. Soon, Britney had me pinned to the wall. "We would, but you have to stay away from Sean, ok? He's mine, so back off," she growled. I gulped. I don't like him! "B-but I d-don't L-like h-him like t-that. H-he's just a-a close f-friend," I defended. My palms were sweating. My brain was l making me dizzy. Yep, I am so having a panic attack. "I don't care! Just stay away from him!" She slapped me across the face. "HEY! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!! GET OFF OF HER!!!" Britney dropped me, and they ran. I breathed heavily, tears streaming down my cheeks. "Oh god Signe, are you ok?" I couldn't move, nor respond to Amy. "Let's get you to the bathroom," she suggested, pulling me up. I leaned on her, shaking wildly. When we made it to the bathroom and Amy closed the door, I started wracking with sobs. She rubbed circles in my back. Once I calmed down, I rubbed my eyes. "A-Amy? C-can I t-tell you s-something?" She nodded, giving me permission to continue. "N-not only d-do I h-have a-a stutter, b-but I have s-severe a-anxiety. You c-can p-probably tell b-by what j-just happened," I explained. "D-do you h-hate m-me now?" Her eyes widened at my outburst. "Of course not Signe. I actually have a cousin who has anxiety. I know how to help you," she says hopefully. I smiled.

<Flashback end>

"Signe? Earth to Sogne? Do you copy?" I snapped back into reality to see Jack, Mark, and Any standing around me. "Huh? W-What happened?" Amy shook her head smiling. "You went into La La Land for a moment," she replied. I nodded. "S-sorry?" Jack laughed. "Don't worry Signe," he said hugging me. I tensed for a moment before hugging him back awkwardly. I felt people watching us so I let go. Jack pouted, like he wanted the hug to last longer. I giggled punching his arm lightly. He cracked a grin.
