Viktor could hear the slow breathing of his partner. He sighed and tried to make himself believe that everything was okay. His conversation with Otabek was playing on repeat in his head. As he looked over at Yuuri, he could feel a tear dripping down his cheek. He lifted his arm, intending to wrap it around Yuuri's warm body. After a second he let it gently fall back to the matress. He buried his face in his pillow and pulled the sheets up above his head.

When morning came, nothing was different. Viktor woke up before Yuuri and made breakfast for the two of them. He flipped the eggs onto a plate as Yuuri entered the kitchen. Yuuri's hair was so messy and perfect. He was still wearing his blue pajamas. He grabbed a frozen waffle and bit into it as he left the kitchen. Viktor sighed and grabbed his plate of eggs. He followed Yuuri out to the couch and sat next to him. Yuuri turned on the TV. There was a video of Viktor skating around the rink, his long silver hair blowing behind him. Viktor heard a low laugh start in Yuuri's throat, but die before it reached his mouth. Yuuri changed the channel to the news. Viktor felt as if the man on his right had somehow stabbed him in the back without even moving. He looked down at his plate and didn't look up until it was clean.

Viktor closed his eyes as he skated in circles around the ice. He lifted his left leg and touched his toes to the cieling. As he spun, all the sad memories inside of him seemed to fly out. As he bent his back, he stretched his arms out as far as he could.
His hair had grown quite a bit in the last three years, and was now down to his shoulders. He had pulled it up into a ponytail, but it still seemed to fall into his face. He heard the music stop and opened his eyes in surprise. It's over already? He skated slowly off the ice and began to pull of his skates. As he did, a little girl ran in, gripping her skates to her chest.
"Oh my gosh!" She screamed. Her eyes lit up as they landed on the silver-haired man in front of her. "Oh my gosh! You're Viktor Nikiforov!" She jumped up and down. Viktor smiled at her. "Can I see you skate?" She asked.
"Oh, Melody, please. Can't you see he's leaving? Maybe another time." The girl's face fell and she looked down at the floor. Viktor couldn't stand to see anyone as sad as he was.
"Oh, I was just taking a break. But I should actually be getting back to skating anyways...would you like to watch?" The girl jumped up and down again. Viktor smiled at her.
"I have your pictures up on my walls! I've watched all of your routines online! I can't believe that I'm actually meeting you! You're the reason I started skating." These words seemed to cut into Viktor's heart. I used to make Yuuri that happy when he was younger....
