Chapter 2

We arrived at the hotel room quite quickly and I started to jump on my bed.

"Allie, get down," Zach said.

I pouted, "do I have to?"

"Yes, we've got to get ready to see Aunt Claire."

I brightened up, "yay!"

I ran over to the balcony to where Gray was asking if we could leave.

"I'll be back in a couple of minutes, wait here so I can take you to Claire," Aunt Claire's assistant, I think she said her name was Zara, told us.

She left the room and I ran over to jump on the bed again. "Allie," Zach groaned and I giggled.

"Sorry, Zach," I have him a huge smile.

I opened my bag and looked inside to see what I wanted to bring with me told.

Nope, not the bear, yes to the bandaids, no to the chocolate but yes to the lollipops and I'll bring the little handbag to carry them in. I'll also bring a flashlight to hit people with and the pepper spray mum and dad forced me to bring.

Zara came back and motioned for us to leave. "We'll meet your Aunt in the main hall. She's currently showing a sponsor around, so she might even beat us there."

I grinned, yay!

"Come on!" Gray and I exclaimed together, giving each other a high five.

We ran up to the main building and pushed the doors open, Gray ran off to see the holograms of all the dinosaurs while I stopped to wait for Zach and Zara. Zara had to run through the doors as they almost closed on her since she was looking down at her phone again.

I looked around and there were kids all around me brushing the sand off of the bones of the dinosaurs that were placed in the room and then I saw Gray at one of the panels blurting out the names of the four basic DNA genes.

"Hey, you two. Don't wonder off alright? Mum's not paying me for baby sitting," Zach said from behind us, causing me to jump.

"Gray! Is that you?" A voice from behind us asked. I turned around and judging from the photos around the house, this is Aunt Claire. "Hi," she said, and awkwardly laughing when Gray hugged her.

I hid behind Zach since although I was excited to see her, I'm still a bit frightened around people I don't really know and let's face, I can't remember ever having seen my Aunt.

"Oh my gosh, you're so, Yo ure so big," Aunt Claire stated. "Woah, Zach, last time I saw you, we were about this tall," she said, holding her hand out around the size of her soldiers. "That must have been, What? Three- four years ago?"

"Seven, seven years ago, but you know, close," Zach interrupted sarcastically.

Aunt Claire looked a bit startled before looking down at me. "Hello, Allie," she smiled, gently. "How are you?"

"Good," I mumbled, hiding my face behind Zach's back.

Aunt Claire nodded, "that's good. So, I see you've already gotten your wrist bands and this is for food," she then pointed over to her assistant," and Zara here is going to take great care of you until I'm done working tonight, okay?"

I looked up at her with wife eyes, "You're not coming with us?"

"Oh I," she sighed, "I really wish that I could... Tomorrow, I can take you into the control room. Show you behind the scenes and all of that. That's gonna be cool right?"

Aunt Claire's phone beeped, so she looked down and then said that she'll see us later. "I'll tonight at six-"

"No, no, no! Don't forget you have the-" Zara interrupted.

"Right, I'll see you at 8- do you have a specific bed time?" Our Aunt asked.

Zach, Gray and I all looked at each other.

"Okay so, um, have fun and take very good care of them," Aunt Claire said before walking away.

"Don't worry about her," Zach turned to Grey and I. "She's never been there for us before, so why would she be there for us now. We should be expected this from her."

I shook my head, my bottom lip poking out and eyes watery, "she's our Aunt though, Zach. Doesn't she love us?"

"I know she loves you a lot, she was really excited hearing you guys would be here," Zara butt in.

"If she did love us as much as you say she does, shouldn't she be here with us?" Gray asked, "she would've known we were coming for a while now, couldn't she have cleared her schedule for us?"

Zara was at a loss of words. "I know your Aunt loves you three. Believe me, I know your Aunt."

"Maybe you know her, but we don't," Zach stated.

I hugged him and he picked me up, running my back as I cried, Gray standing next to us.

Usually, Zach can be pretty cruel to us, especially Gray, but then there are times life this when I remember how much I love my brother and how protective he is over me. Especially when they found me again, I know he continuously beats himself up over that day but I always reassuring him that it isn't his fault.

Zara sighed, "Come on, let's go see some dinosaurs before it gets too late."

Zach and Gray nodded, following her with Zach still holding me. Yay, dinosaurs!
