Today is Thursday. Which means today is the day we will report in Economics. The three of us were off to school early because we were ought to report first.
We were more than ready to present our report.
"Good morning, you two. Are you ready for today?" Steph greeted.
"Yes we are ready as always!" I said.
"I almost forgot to bring the projector. Luckily my mom reminded me!" Dale said.
Everything was going well before the presentation. Before getting inside the room, we saw Sir Andy outside and shook as all.
"Is that him over there? He sure has some guts." Steph asked.
"What is he doing here? He's still suspended, right?" I asked.
"We don't know. He looks busy. Let's go to our classroom, we need to set up the things we will use later." Dale said.
"Let's not mind him." I uttered.
We prepared and finished before the substitute teacher came.
"Good morning class. Please be seated." The substitute teacher said.
"Good morning, Sir." The class greeted.
"Are the reporters ready?" The teacher asked.
"Andrea and company, are you ready?" He added.
"Yes sir. We are ready." I answered.
"Okay we'll start in a bit but first let us pray. Please stand up, class." He said.
We all stood up and prayed.
"In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. Amen
Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN"
"Alright, class. You may take your seat." He said.
"Ms. Santos, Ms. Uy and Mr. Garcia, you may start your report." He added.
"Okay sir." We replied.
We got infront to report and honestly, it went well. The class was listening attentively and the teacher got our point.
"Is there any questions about our report?" I asked.
"Is everything clear?" The substitute teacher asked.
"Yes sir." They answered.
"Well then, let us give them a round of applause." He said.
"Good job, reporters. Andrea, please give me a copy of your presentation." He added.
We went back to our places.
"By the way, class. You have a visitor. I just let the group finish their discussion before anything else. Well, that's all for today's lesson. Thank you."
Who could the visitor be?
It was Sir Andy. He entered the room with a sad smile.
"Good morning, class." Sir Andy greeted to us.
"Good morning, Sir!" The class answered.
"May be you're all wondering, what am I doing here, right?" He asked.
"Yes sir. We are. But anyways, we've missed you sir." One of my classmates said.
"I'm here to bid farewell, class." He said.
That left the class in silence. Why was he saying goodbye?
"I'll be resigning as a teacher here. I've decided to find another school but maybe not now because I want some time for myself." He added.
Everyone inside the class was murmuring. Even I got sad. He doesn't have to stop teaching. He just needs to change but still, he has a point. Time for oneself is the answer to his problem.
"Class, I'll be missing each and every one of you. Please be a good student to your teachers. I'll never forget you so please do the same thing too, alright?" Sir Andy said.
"Yes sir..." We answered.
"We'll be missing you also, sir." One of my classmates said.
"Okay, that's all. Thank you for everything. Let's keep in touch." Sir Andy said.
"Steph, Dale and Andrea, can I talk to you outside?" Sir Andy asked.
I was expecting this that he'll call us to talk outside yet we agreed.
"I've caused headaches to the three of you and I deeply apologize for it. I'm not assuming that you will forgive me because I know it's hard trusting a person again especially if that person was a former stranger to you. But still, I hope everything will get back to normal. Don't let anything affect your studies and, of course, your friendship." Sir said.
We could not say a word so he just smiled at us and waved goodbye. Sir Andy left the school grounds and started a new journey in his life without us. I know that he'll be fine. He's a great young man, after all. And no matter what happens, he'll manage it like a boss.
"Are you alright?" Dale asked me.
"Yes, Dale. I feel great now that everything will be back to normal from this point onward." I answered with a big smile on my face.
"I'll go get some fresh air. I mean fresh water." Steph jokingly said.
"It's almost time for lunch. Let's go together." Dale insisted.
"I'm starving. Our life is so dramatic that it stresses us so much. Let's have lunch." I replied.
We went to the cafeteria, ordered food, and found a table. As usual, we talked about everything we needed to. Somehow, it gives me a feeling of change. Good change. Everything will be better as long as I believe it will be. Steph and Dale did not change at all despite the chaotic situations before. They were still my loving friends and that is enough for me.
"Steph, you're growing fat." Dale said.
"What did you just say to me?! Steph exclaimed.
"Well, I have to go now! There's somewhere a need to go." I said.
That was just an excuse to avoid the petty quarrel of the two. Dale shouldn't have teased her. It will cause ruckus. I went to the comfort room and checked on my phone to browse on my messages. What am I checking on anyway? No one will text me.
Just as I got out of the comfort room, I saw Steph and Dale on their way to our classroom. They are still arguing but have smiles on their faces. This made me smile, too. All is well.
