The Royal Moonlight

Two days after the announcement, a some royal retainer of the royal family came to my house to prep me. Apparently I didn't need to pack anything. All my clothes were being provided and they were taking my measurements. Some guy came to me with a measuring rope and literally measured everything. My bust, waist, hips, butt, thighs, calfs, butt to neck, hips to feet, my neck, feet, fingers, even my hair length.

"Now, come sit down, I have a few questions to ask you and your family." The retainer day said.

I had to sit  in the middle of the couch, right in front of the lady.

"So, first question, are you fully and truthfully unmated?" She asked and she tapped her clip board with her pen.

"Of course I am. I went on my search when I turned 16 but was unsuccessful in finding a mate." I replied.

"Okay, last question, are you still a virgin? I know it asked on the application but a lot of girls can lie" she questioned.

"Of course she's a virgin. She knows it's the part of you that you save for your mate." My mom said as if she were the one who was just insulted.

" Thank you ma'am, but I need to hear it from her." The retainer replied.

"Yes, I'm a virgin. You can check if you want." I said sarcastically.

"There are a few rules and regulations that I have to announce. Number one, you aren't allowed to speak to anyone about what you and the prince do until he or the kind and queen show it on t.v. Second rule, you cannot and I repeat, can not hit the other girls. It will make you automatically disqualified and you will be sent home. And third, you are to have no relationships with anyone but the prince. So leave the guy you are with before you leave tomorrow." The lady explained.

" Thank you and here is you plane ticket to the Royal Moonlight airport where a limo driver will pick you and the four other lucky ladies up at the airport. It was nice to meet you. Have a great night." The lady said as she went out the door. I stared at the ticket. It was golden and reminded me of the tickets from the polar express. It said I was traveling first class. Layla was so gonna be jealous.

I wonder how Aubrey is even going to get in The Crowning. Everyone at school knows that she sleeps around. Even her Aiden knows about it, and he's her brother. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.

I was woken up by Layla crying on me.

" You're leaving me for so long. What if you are the one? Then you're leaving my forever!!"  She wailed and tears poured out of her eyes.

"Come on Layla, I don't gotta be at the airport for another three hours, help me get ready and you can be the one that walks me to the plane." I said as I wiped her eyes. She nodded and we stood up. I grabbed the outfit that the lady gave me yesterday. It was beautiful actually. It was a deep royal blue dress, with a sweetheart neckline and it was a ballgown but it wasn't too poofy. She also gave me these deathly looking silver heels that looked like they were 10 inches tall.

Layla silently on my make up until some random lady came in and looked at her with horror in her eyes.

"No one is allowed to touch Lady Lillian's make up and hair but me. I am her royal maid." The lady all but yelled at Layla. Layla, realizing that she had just been yelled at, which was basically insulting her, growled at the maid. Layla was next in line as Alpha, no one is supposed to talk to alphas that way. I think that maid realized this and apologized under her breathe. Layla huffed and put down the make up brushes.

"Thank you, now, I was thinking that because you have beautiful red hair, that we leave it down but put it into beautiful curls." The lady said as she walked over to me. She looked at my hair and made some kind of unhappy face because Layla already did that, and my make up the way the maid wanted it.

"My name is Kenna, my lady. I am your head maid and I will be with you as you stay at the palace." The maid, Kenna, said.

"Palace?!?!" Layla all but screamed as she jumped beside me. "She's staying at a palace??"

"Yes miss. The Royal Moonlight palace." Kenna replied, as if she'd been asked this way before. She grabbed my dress and insisted that I put it on. I fit so well. She started lacing up the corset of the dress. Layla placed a full length mirror I front of me and I hardly recognized myself. Kenna bent down and slipped my shoes on me since it was kind of hard to do this myself. How was even going to fit in the car.

Kenna tried placing the necklace on me that came with the outfit. It was a gorgeous single oval sapphire on a short chain. I had to decline and wear the twin necklaces me and Layla have. She grumbled but grabbed it from my hands. Layla insisted on putting it on me.

Layla smoothed out my dress as I got ready to walk down the stairs. I could see my mom and dad. I began to walk down the stairs I got halfway down with Layla behind me and heard her whisper "mate" as she looked at my parents. What? From behind my mom and dad, out stepped my brother Lincoln. He actually came to see me off? He was Layla's mate? Oh my gosh. My brother is future alpha male.

"Go to him Layla." I whispered.

She bolted down the stairs and ran to him. I followed slowly in these death heels.

"Congratulations you two!" My parents said.

"Hey sis, congratulations. I didn't mean to steal your spotlight or anything. I swear I didn't know." He said.

"Oh Lincoln, you could never. You are mated to my best friend. What more could I want other than her as an actual sister." I replied as I hugged him. "Thank you for coming to see me off."

"Are you ready miss?" Kenna asked as she came out from behind me.

"Yes." I replied as I sealed my own fate. I hugged my mom and dad bye. Mom started crying so much.

"Are you still coming with my to the airport Layla?" I asked.

"Of course Lilly. But can Lincoln come too?" She practically begged as she scooted closer to him.

"Come on you two. I wouldn't say no." I replied. We walked to the car and Layla had to help me in. She was almost sitting on Lincolns lap because of my dress, but you could tell that she didn't mind. The drive to the airport was short, and it made me almost cry to have to say goodbye to her. Kenna walked through the gateway and onto the plane and told me she would be waiting. The plane was to leave in five minutes.

"Good bye! Please don't forgot me. Please. I'm the only one who will ever half the other half of that necklace. Don't forget me or I swear I will come to the palace myself." She cried. She hugged me goodbye and then I hugged Lincoln.
I dragged the little carry on suitcase that held my personal belongings behind me. The only thing I have of Layla now was the necklace around my neck and the pictures in my suitcase.
