I woke up, dead out of sleep sweating and panting I crawled out of bed and went down stairs quietly to get a glass of water.

I thought about the dream I'm always having the same exact nightmare every night ever since I was twelve.
After downing the glass that was in my hand. I decided to go to my comfort place.

A secret wooden swing that was attached to an ancient oak in the woods surrounded by thorny bushes that I had to crawl through.

The only place I could think clearly and calmly while the wind whispered through the leaves making them rustle.

I went back upstairs to change into a hoodie and some grey joggers and climbed quietly out of my window and down the side of the house where it got closest to the ground.

When I finally landed the ground I started walking in the direction wooded area to find the trail that would lead me to my secret paradise.
When I got there a dark figure was already lying in wait.

I was alarmed.

I was the only person who knew about this place besides my mom, but she  died when I was young.
To this day it was still an unsolved murder.

This dark figure must have heard me coming through the bushes because he turned in my direction.
I locked eyes with the dark figure for a moment before I took off through the trees.
He called for me.
His deep cold voice sent shivers down my spine, and made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.
I didn't look back and kept running until I ran out of breath and slowed to a stop.

The blood was pounding in my ear as I looked around. The forest was still dark with the moon trickling through the trees giving way to the rest of the forest that surrounded me. I was lost.
I heard a crunch of leaves behind me.
Suddenly the dark figure appeared in front of me.
He found me.
