I whipped around in my seat, ready to fire off a remark of how I didn't see his name on the chair, but stopped dead in my tracks.
Behind me had stood possibly the most gorgeous human to have ever walked this earth, or any others for that matter. He had shaggy, sandy toned hair and his eyes were a beautiful rainbow of blues, browns, and greens. Needless to say, he left me completely breathless. His coral lips stretched into a wide smile, revealing his perfect teeth. He had a youthful look, but a mature aura to him.
"Oh, uh, hey!" he said, his voice like velvet. "Who are you?"
I blinked a couple times, soaking in his existence. "I'm Alexis. Alexis Rose."
His grin grew wider, and he looked to the floor. "That's pretty. Almost as pretty as the girl who possesses it."
My face glowed a ferocious shade of red as Calum mumbled, "Dude, you're gonna scare her away. Knock it off."
"I will not lie to a woman!" he said, giggling. He turned to face me, his expression giddy. "I'm Ashton, and since you're new, I feel inclined to show you the amazing smoothie place we have on campus."
"But I just met you," I ricocheted playfully. "I don't know a single thing about who you are, and I just learned your name."
"But that's exactly why you should spend time with me, so you can get to know me!" he chirped.
"Suppose I agree, what would one wear to get smoothies?"
"Well, I am most likely wearing a flannel with dark jeans, as that type of ensemble makes up the majority of my wardrobe." he said, gesturing to his torso. "But what you're wearing right now is definitely appropriate, though something navy would bring out your eyes more."
I chuckled, playing along. "Is this flannel of yours green?"
"It could be."
"I'm glad. Something green would bring out your eyes." I said, repeating his earlier words.
"So, meet me at the side patio at 7?" Ashton asked, smiling hopefully. I nodded, his smile matching my own.
"Wouldn't miss it."

On the way back to my room, Calum started to apologize profusely, "I'm sorry," and "I didn't think he would do something like that," were repeated until we stopped outside my door.
"Calum, please," I laughed, brushing off his apologies. "It's fine! He seems really sweet."
He turned to leave, but called, "I'll come get you around 6:50?"
My eyes rolled as I called back, "We don't need a chaperone you know!"
"Do you know where you're going?"
He finished by saying he would get me in a few hours. I nodded and proceeded to enter my new room, expecting my mother and Catherine to be there. It seemed although I'd expected wrong, but my mom was courteous enough to leave a note. I scanned over it, not really bothering to spend too much thought over her halfhearted sentiments.
I sat delicately on my bed, being careful as to not wrinkle the sheets too much, and opened my largest suitcase. Upon finding my outfit for the evening, I walked to the two person bathroom. I noticed it was still bare, and I wondered if I even had a girl to share this bathroom with. I set the two neatly folded towels outside the bathtub and stepped under the shower head, hoping it would wash away any remaining hope of going home.
The water pressure relieved the aches and knots that had formed from the high of my shoulders to the low of my back. My thoughts wandered to the people I'd met today: Calum was nice, and certainly attractive and friendly. It was the same with Luke as well, but he had an extra touch of shyness. Michael had seemed like someone who rarely spoke without his voice dripping with sarcasm, and even with his fluorescent hair, he was still hot.
