Help me be free

The Team

       I woke up late as usual and groggily walked to school.  The clouds looked luminous. The bright sun still tried to shine through them. The air smelt a little strange. Maybe it would rain later today. I kept staring at the sky's and didn't notice where I was walking until I bumped into a hard body.
      "Oh!" I quickly spoke up as I looked up at the tall strong boy. His black hair made his blue eyes pop out. "I'm so sorry" I bowed quickly to avoid him from seeing my face turning red.
      "It's okay." He gently said. I looked up at him and cold stare made me shake. I quickly looked away. His words sounded so kind, but his face was a different story. "Hey, are you okay?" I looked back up he looked almost like a different person. I smile stretched across his face.
      "Y-yes. I'm fine." I said with a smile. My face felt warm as I walked away quickly from the boy. After about a few more blocks I reached into my pocket to see if Kagami had messaged me. I couldn't feel it. Oh. I must have dropped it when I bumped into that boy. I turned around, forgetting I had taken a few turns, trying to see if it was there. I sighed.
I walked back towards my apartment to where I had bumped into the boy. After a few more steps i couldn't find it so I walked to school. I hope Kagami doesn't need me for anything. He's the only person who ever texts or calls. I haven't heard from my mother in a while. My older sister hasn't even tried to contact me.
I made it to class just a few minutes late and took my seat in front of Makato, who gave me a warm smile as I walked in.
The second we were dismissed for lunch Makato practically leaped out of his seat. With a big smile he happily said, "I'm so glade you decided to join the swim team!"
"Makato, calm down." Haru calmly said. "Your gunna end up scaring her off."
"Oh, right. I'm sorry."
"No it's okay." I started to blush as soon as I noticed that Makato was blushing. "It makes me feel appreciated. Even though I don't know how to swim." I nervously laughed.
"You don't?" Makato asked.
"Haru said he'll teach."
"Haru?" He quietly said as he looked over at him.
"Let's go to the roof." Haru said as he stood up. "They're probably waiting."
We walked up to the roof where Nagisa happily jumped up from the floor, "(Y/N)! Did you change your mind!?"
"Uh.. yeah." I said, "Haru kinda chose for me."
"Really!? Awe Haru, I was going to be the one to convince her!"
"Haru said he'll teach her to swim." Makato said trying to get him to calm down a bit.
"Wow... Haru!" Nagasi said as he jumped and hugged Haru.
Makato lead me to two other people and we sat on the floor. with the boy from the library and Kou, from the first day I arrived where both sitting there.
"Hey!" Kou yelled, "its you!"
       "Spy two now each other?" Makato asked.
       "Oh." The boy in glasses reached in to his bag. "I'm done with the book. You can go ahead and take it. Just make sure it's turned in by next week."
        "Wait you know her too, Rei!?" Makato asked, "wow, (Y/N). I guess your pretty popular here." He began to blush as he scratched his head and quietly, almost to himself he said. "Not surprising"
       "We've only met once." Koi said, "Right when she arrived here. I think."
       "And I've only met her in the library the other day. But I don't think we actually introduced our selves. I'm Rei."
       "I'm (Y/N)." What are the odds of these people being part of the swim team.
        "Wait a minute." Kou stood up. "Your with Makato! Dose that mean you to are dating!?"
        "W-what?" What is she talking about. My face became red at the thought of me and Makato. "W-we barely know each other."
        "You're getting the wrong idea, kou!" Makato said as I looked over him. He was blushing almost as severely as I was.
        "Haru convinced (Y/N) to join the swim team!" Nagisa happy yelled as he sat down next to kou. "All though." Nagisa suddenly had a bit of a mischievous look in his eyes. "Makato and (Y/N) would make a cute couple. But then Haru and (Y/N) would fall in love over there love of water."
      "Don't be ridiculous." Haru pipped up, "if Makato and (Y/N) want to be together, far be it for me to try and intervene."
       "Awe! Haru how noble." Kou yelled. "Your love for her is greater than everything!" I looked over at Haru who stilled looked as cool as a cucumber. Makato on the other hand. Has blushing hard and trying to cover up his nervousness with laughter.
       "So, (Y/N), how long have you been swimming?" Rei asked trying to change the subject.
      "Well." I began to nervously fidget with my hair. "I've never actually swam before." Lightly laughing, "I don't even own a swim suit."
      "Oh well that's okay." Kou said with a smile. "Rei here didn't know either. But know we he learned quick."
      "It also looks its gunna rain." Makato said, "so we might not swim outside today."
      "We can take you to the store and then go to the swim club to get in a quick practice."

       After school we met up at the entrance of the school and took a bus to a big sporting goods store. Walking in to a see of swim suites of many sizes and colors.
      "Okay." Kou said. "Let's split up and help (Y/N) find some suits!"
      "Yes!" The boys said at the same time and ran off to the girls isle.
       "Don't worry." Kou said quietly, "there gunna try to get you to ware something completely ridiculous. But you don't have to ware anything your not comfortable in, okay?"
I wondered around for while before Makato nervously asked me try one two on. Along with Nagisa ruining up behind him with a pile of colors and patterns. "Try these, (Y/N)!"
"Okay." I took them and changed in out of the ones Nagisa had picked out.
"Come on!" Nagisa eagerly, "I wanna see."
"Uhm... okay." I replied as I finally found one that felt comfy and not restricting.
"Wow!" Nagisa happily smiled. "That one really suits you!"
"Oh." Makato looked at me wide eyed. "Nagisa. Don't you think that it's to flamboyant?" I looked down at the suit and back Makato, started to blush. "Well I mean it does look nice on you."
"No. you're right." I said as I walked back into the room.
"Wait." Haru said as he handed me a suit. "Try this one."
I tried on the on that Haru had just handed me. It was a basic black design with a stripe of blue on each side. It felt. It felt really good to be in it. I stepped out to see what the boys thought. To my surprise Haru was standing out there in just his swimming trunks. They looked very Similar to the suit I was Wearing.
"Haru." Makato looked me over. "Your trying to match?"
"Why not?!" Nagisa yelled as he jumped between me and Haru. Pulling us closer together.
"I guess it doesn't matter." Makato said looking sheepishly away.
After picking out two more outfits we headed out. I stopped as we walked out and looked around. Looking up I saw dark clouds and I noticed a familiar sent in the air. It was going to rain.
       "Hey." I quietly began to speak. "Do you guys mind if i don't go today." They all looked at me questionly. "It's just. It's looks like it might rain a lot. I live on the other side of town..."
       "I can walk you home after practice if you'd like." Makato said with a warm smile. "It wouldn't be a bother or any thing."
        "No. I wouldn't feel right about it. I don't want to get anyone sick."
       "I guess you can skip today." Kou said,"but after today. No days off. You don't want to be he only one not to make it to regionals."
        "Okay. Thank you" I replied. Does she even think I have a chance to make it to regionals? I don't even know how to swim. I sighed lightly. She's setting me up to fail.
        We said our good byes and went our separate ways. Well in other words they left and I sat on a bench near by. Looking back up the sky.  The darker sky looked so beautiful. I took a deep inhale and smiled. It smelt so good. A small drop of water fell and hit my nose.
