Awaken the Beast

The sun was so bright, it took awhile for my eyes to adjust. It was exactly how I remembered it. Dense forests to the east, rivers flowing to the west. Nothing had changed, I couldn't help but smile. I hated and loved it."Its not right to hate and love a world at the same time." my head wiped around to see Ice standing next to me with a blank expression. She was looking off into the distance as if searching for something that was once there and now was gone."How bad has it gotten?" My words displayed no emotion.

"All the clans have submitted to Ryder's rule except for Air Fields, Heavens, and a some individual's." I could hear the pain in her voice. She loved this world and everyone in it. She was a good ruler, she never once laid a hand on someone. She was a strong Queen in her time of rule, even going after Ryder a few times. In the end Ryder came out on top, and left Ice to watch as he destroyed what she had once built.

"I'm Surprised that the Air fields have last this long. Ryder never seemed to like them, I always thought if he ever waged war on the clans they would be one of the first he would take." a slight snicker in my voice seemed to offed her. " Don't doubt Aaron, he may not have the strongest clan, but he has the bravest and most selfless clan there is." Pride was all I could use to describe how she spoke of them. Aaron, the leader of the Air Fields Clan. And someone who made me feel things I never thought I could feel.

I fell in love with him long ago.  But that's in the past and Aaron never knew, he fell for someone else.

I was snapped out of my thought when a hand brushed my shoulder. "Were headed to the Palace now" Ice spoke softly. I knew exactly where we were in the realm so I figured it would be a while before we reached our destination. The portal Openings were always in one of three places, The grounds between the Guardian Guild and the Fire Forest, Emerald Lake and the Snow Clan, or The Heavens Clan and Hell Mates.  We were right in-between Emerald lake and the Snow Clan.

I was thankful for that for more than one reason. One being Hell Mates was the clan Ryder ruled and where I met him, and two being I wasn't  on the best terms with the leader of The Heavens. I messed with his daughter one to many times for his taste. I wasn't the most liked person here, sure I had my friends, but I also had more than one run in with a few Clan Leaders.

After a few hours of walking we finally reached the palace. Before I had left, the palace had been a bright beautiful place, with huge gardens with a river flowing through it . The walls were a white stone with a  blue roof. Climbing red roses could be seen on every tower, and the gates were always open.

Now looking upon the palace, it felt as if I had never seen this place before in my life. The walls and roof were black. The gardens no longer held beautiful blooming flowers but were now laced with deadly poisonous plants. The roses that once grew across the towers were now thorns, remnants of the past flower that grew so brilliantly upon the castle walls.

Once again I was shaken from my thoughts by someone grabbing my elbow and pulling me towards the doors. As we entered, I spotted Ryder next to the gaurd who dragged me in. "Everyone leave I need to speak with True, alone." A dark smile danced across his lips as everyone left the room.

Within seconds I was up against a wall for the second time today. "You don't know how long I've waited for you. Every second of the last five years I have been waiting for this day to come, and now I have you all to myself." Ryder sounded like nothing more than a psychopath who had been waiting a life time to kill someone. My breathing picked up as did my hart rate.

"Why? If your going to kill me and rid me of your life anyway, why waste five years looking for me. In that amount of time I could have already been dead." Confusion was all that my voice displayed. This man who was fighting so many demons, could have spent the last five years ridding himself of that burden.

His lips grazed my ear sending chills up and down my body.He let out a soft laugh. "Oh True, I'm not going to kill you. Im going to marry you."
