The final bell rings and I groan in frustration. I love 8th period dance. It's the only class I get to express my feelings in. I was thinking on staying for a half an hour, but my stomach kept making animal noises. I haven't eaten anything today and chewing four sticks of gum didn't help either. Since I didn't go to my locker today or change for dance class, I can just leave school without stopping.
Out the door. No stopping. That's the plan! Please work. Please work.
My phone buzzes in my pocket while I'm walking out of the dance studio. l pull my phone out to see that I have several missed calls and hundreds of texts from Ashley.
Well not hundreds. Obv! Exaggeration.
I click on the message icon and begin to read her texts.
While I'm reading her texts, I look up at the same time I walk into a hard chest. I stumble back a bit and clutch my head. I look up to see John staring at me.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I regain my balance, lock my phone and put it back in my pocket. I look up to see John staring at me with a smirk playing on his lips.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I brush myself off and stand up straight.
He looks me up and down, then a grin appears on his face.
"Lisa right?"
"John right?"
Two can play that game!
"How about we grab a bite to eat?"
"That sounds really good, but I want to go home. I'm really tired. Sorry. Maybe next time?"
He sighs.
"Okay."
"See you later."
"Bye."
I turn around just in time to see Chris running towards us. I turn and grab John's wrist and briskly start walking down the hallway leading us out the door.
"What are you doing?"
"I know you've heard about the drama that happened today."
He nodded his head.
"Maybe I have."
"Well, I'm trying to end the day without anymore if it happening. I am absolutely exhausted." I explain.
"Well, quite frankly, running from problems isn't going to solve anything. You do have to face him tomorrow. So what's the point in running now?"
He has a point. But what does he know he's the new kid. Lisa, what does that have to do with anything? Maybe if I ignore it, it would go away.
"Lisa, please wait up!"
If you ignore it, it would go away. It's going to go away, just smile.
I look up to John and smile.
"Just talk to him and get it over with."
I feel my body tense up as I hear the words fall from his rosy pink lips.
"Wow, you have a good grip!"
I look down to see my hand tightly wrapped around his wrist.
"Sorry." I say sheepishly as I drop my hand to my side.
"So, you have a girlfriend?" I ask curiously.
"Her name is Natalie. Now, are you going to talk to him?"
