" Anna, your regulars are here." Susan, another waitress, informed me as she jet past me, arms full of empty plates.
I scanned the restaurant to make sure none of my other customers needed anything, and went over to the boys' regular table. " Hello, my name is Anna, and I'll be your server today, can I start you off with something to drink?"
All the boys laughed, and Niall jumped up to hug me. I giggled and held him close, he smelled so good. I buried my face in his neck and inhaled. Niall held me tight and guided me to a secluded part of the restaurant.
" Don't tell me those bruises on your neck, arms, AND back are from him." Niall said softly, his forehead to mine.
I bit my lip and looked down, embarrassed and ashamed.
" God, Ann, you gotta leave him, he's only hurting you, he doesn't love you! You deserve more!" He pleaded, kicking an empty chair.
" Niall.... Just stop."
" Not until you leave that dirtbag. I won't stop until I know you are safe, which means away from him."
" Niall, just... not now..." I wiped away a stray tear, and crossed my arms. I felt weak, and guilty for anyone who wastes their time on trying to help me. I can't leave Eric, he's all I've ever known, even if he hurts me, and yells at me sometimes, I deserve it, I do things wrong, or say the wrong things. I love him, he gives me everything I need, a home, food, a companion, I don't need much else.
" Anna, please... Just, be careful..." Niall breathed. I pulled him into another hug, and we stood for a moment before I remembered that I had tables to attend too.
I pulled away, and Niall kissed my forehead before I walked with him back to his table with the rest of the One Direction boys. " Sus, can you take table 7 for me? Thank youuuu!" I said, pointing to the table that was ready for their orders to be taken.
I took the boys orders and put them in to the cooks. I made sure the rest of the tables were situated before I went back over to the boys table. I sat down next to Harry, who gave me a tight side hug, and kissed my hair.
" How's our girl doing?" Harry asked.
" I'm doing alright." I smiled at all of them. " This job kills though, heels through the whole day, seriously?"
" Do you have rehearsal tonight?" Niall asked.
I sighed, and nodded. " Yes, but my feet are killing me, and I have yet to break in the new pointe shoes. So much to do, so little time." I slumped into Harry's shoulder.
" When are you picking up the little girl?" Liam asked, sipping his tea.
" They said they would call to tell me, but either tomorrow or the next day." I brightened up at the thought.
Eric and I had talked about having children, but being a ballet dancer, I hadn't wanted to take a break or ruin my body so early into my career, but I'm dying for a child, so for the past few months I'd been filling out forms and getting different information in the mail about adopting a toddler. I'd been able to choose out of different profiles they had given me, and I'd chosen the little 5-year-old beauty named Olivia, who'd been abused and neglected by her parents. From the pictures I'd recieved, I could see she was a true beauty. She had bright blue eyes which reminded me of Niall, and fair skin. He hair was a light brown, and hung to her stomach. I couldn't wait to hold this little girl and never let her go. I would never let Eric hurt her.
I was hoping that maybe something innocent and pure would clense his anger, and cause him to calm down a bit.
" That's great!" Zayn cheered. I giggled.
" Look, I've gotta get back to work. I'll be back with your food, but don't leave without saying goodbye." I stood up, and quickly helped customers.
While I was tallying a check at the register, Niall came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my stomach, I winced as he put pressure on a bruise, but quickly shifted to hug him. I went to kiss his cheek, but he ended up pecking my lips. Fire shot through my body, and I choked on my own breath. Niall stepped back and let the other boys hug me. I said goodbye, no matter how confused I was. I watched them all walk out the door, and Niall and I made eye contact through the glass window. But then he was gone.

After finishing my shift, I took off my apron, and changed into some fur boots, and made my way through the freezing streets of London back home. I quickly changed into my ballet gear, layering lounge pants and a winter jacket, and grabbed a quick snack before running out the door. I got into my car, and drove to the studio. Once I was inside, I went into the bathroom to finish my hair bun for rehearsal. Once I was suited up and ready, I kept my head in the game and danced my toes off.
" Alright, rehearsal over. Drive safe, I'll see you all on Saturday." My teacher said, I slumped against the mirror and pulled off my point shoes and my tutu. I drove home in an exhausting silence, and as soon as I got in, Eric demanded dinner. I nodded silently, and got to work.
~~
I set down his plate, and sat across from him with my own plate.
" How was work today, honey?" I asked politely.
"Shitty, I got stuck having to fix our office copy machine."
" That's a shame. Would you like some wine?"
" No, what do I look like, a pussy? Just get me a beer." He spit back at me.
I bit my tongue to keep from yelling back, but instead got up and placed a cold beer in front of him. He took a gulp and beltched loudly. I wrinkled my nose.
" You have a problem?" He asked, loudly, and full of attitude.
" Not at all." I smiled at him, and started cleaning up mine and his dishes. Once everything was cleaned up and Eric was on the couch watching a football game, I went and took a long, hot, relaxing shower. After my shower I rubbed lotion all over my body, and focused on my sore, blistered feet. I got dressed in pajamas, and slipped into my bed, and into a peaceful sleep.
