Refusal of Silence

And so it happened.
Silence overflowed my mouth more than any thanksgiving dinner can.
It shackled my wrists and held me prisoner
Wrapped my mind in everything completely dark and dreary.
Locked my heart away as though it's prized treasure.
Holding me captive in your life
Holding me accountable for no endeavors
Silence tapes my mouth shut only lets me speak when the syllables are similar to your name
Silence is weakness
I refuse to stay on the path you put me on.
And so it happened,
I broke from the strains you put me under.
I have forgotten the pain that is your existence interrupting mine. I am my own being. I belong to myself. And I couldn't be more thankful.
