new friends & exploring

"That was a long day. I need to relax." Esther groans. 

Esther hadn't been late to class. I mean, technically she had but her teacher wasn't in class yet and came 15 minutes late after the bell herself. Even though she still has her vampire energy and pureblood vampire energy at that, she is still a bit tired. I guess it was because of that running to classes thing. We've been running to classes all day long. Since we didn't get a chance to stop and go through all our classes so we know where they are, we'd been running around in circles all day, trying to find the buildings the classes were located in. And that big, complicated map in the Administration Office didn't help either. But still, Esther shouldn't be tired at all. So now we are in our dorm, sitting on the couches, talking after a long day.

"As much as we need a break, we should go explore a little instead." Mythily suggests, looking at Esther. "We might meet new people as well." Mythily is right, we should meet new people, to get used to the people around here. And we might be able to find some shortcuts to class too. Plus, I want to know where the library is.

"Yeah, Mythily's right. Maybe we'll find shortcuts." I say, shifting to a more comfortable position on the two-seat sofa. "And find the library too. I heard they have a big one here at this school."

"Hmm, I want to see the library too but..." Esther closes her eyes for a few seconds. Then when she opens them again, she seems a bit refreshed and says, "Okay, lets go."

"Yay!" I say, cheerfully. I can't wait to explore campus, see the library, and maybe make some new friends. I heard this school was a really spirited and nice school so now we'll have to see how much of this is true, I guess. 

I go into my bedroom. It's a really large bedroom, just like what I have at home, and I'm thankful for it. First day at school and I'm already homesick...pathetic. I walk to my cherry-wood colored bedside table with it's mahogany colored lamp on top of it. It seems that everything in this dorm is either cherry-wood colored or mahogany colored, except for the decorations me, Mythily, and Esther put on. I heard that each dorm has different color combinations like ours has. I wonder why they put it that way. I grab my purse which was resting on my bedside table and step in my bathroom (because it it's closer to me than my dressing table) and quickly glance at my reflection to see if it is all right. I had put my hair in half ponytail this morning but I decide to change it now and let my soft, wavy hair flow down my back and part in the middle. I try to take good care of my hair but besides shampooing and conditioning my hair everyday, there isn't much I can do for them. It works out good though, I don't have to worry about my hair at all because no matter what I do, they always stay shiny and soft. Thanks to my mom I guess.

I step outside of my bathroom and walk out my room, about to close the door behind me. I suddenly freeze while closing the door, my hand still on the door knob. I hear nothing and it seems like as if I'm in a dark place, away from the dorm. All my senses are dim as if I'm in a semi-conscious state. I'm only aware of what's happening and of the pain. I get an eerie feeling and suddenly feel uncomfortable and prickly...and suffocated, like I'm sitting in a chair made of cactus needles and someone is squeezing my throat at the same time. I furrow my eyebrows as I feel a searing pain in my throat. The air around me suddenly disappears and I can't breathe anymore as if I'm underwater. My vision becomes blurry. The burning pain starts to become unbearable and as I'm about to go unconscious, two fingers snap in front of my face, releasing me from the trance-like state I was in. I blink multiple times at the person in front of me. It's Mythily. All the pain and uncomfortable sensations I had aren't there any more, like the hallucination didn't even happen. At least, that's what I think it is...a hallucination.  

"Hellooo? Earth to Nagini!" Mythily says, waving her hands in front of my face. I can see her clearly now. She had fixed her hair a bit, put on some eye-liner & mascara and changed into navy blue skinny jeans, knee high black boots, a plain black elbow sleeved turtleneck shirt, and a plaid navy blue scarf. Mythily also had a small purse hanging from her shoulder.
