Tony was the pure embodiment of rule 5. Tony was Gibbs partner. No, not marital partner (yet), his work partner and his lover.
Tony was the best at what she did. Undercover work was one of her many talents, being trilingual had its perks, but not her only one.
Tony did work for Philadelphia and Baltimore, that's where Gibbs had found her, and was a damn good cop.
As such she'd been in some pretty dangerous situations. However, the majority of dangerous situations at NCIS where simply fire-fights and getting lost.
Gibbs always made sure of that.
And then there was that one incident the Tony wasn't allowed to speak about because it was too painful for Gibbs to remember.
"Boss, I think I screwed up." Tony murmured down the line as she stumbled to her knees.
She remembered pulling her gun and dropping her phone, but then her vision went dark and she blacked out.
"Tony! Tony, can you hear me? We're coming for you!" Gibbs yelled into the phone.
He snapped twice in Kate's direction and snapped the phone shut. Kate came forward, but Ducky pulled up a hand and held her elbow.
Gibbs smacked the table with a shout and kicked his desk twice. Then he growled and turned to Kate, eyes wild. "Find Tony's last location. Find Tony." He growled.
When Tony woke up, she was in some sort of cell underground with a musty smell and damp air. Well... Shit.
Gibbs found her two hours later and spoke to her through a wall.
The bullet Gibbs put into the man's skull only proved what Tony had already known.
But the way he looked at her that night... Oh, she found herself not wanting to leave again.
