New friends, old memories

-In the cafeteria, eating waffles with Jacob-

"I probably haven't really been here long either, but i at least know the place and rules..."he said "1..No fighting at all, not even to defend yourself, if you're caught you get in trouble. 2..Listen to the staff and supervisors. 3.. No using abilities unless given permission or there is a need to. 4... No bullying at all, it is a danger to everyone around, most people don't fully control their abilities. 5.. No outside communications or technology. So basically, just behave."

"Damn that's alot of rules huh" i said

"Ya..but at least we have freedom" he said joking a bit

"I noticed that there were bars keeping you inside and also the locks on doors, plus all the security around..."

"Ya..they state its for our protection and also the outsides world protection.."he said looking off at the security gaurd standing nearby who didnt notice, but instead he kept his eyes on a group of kids that just straight up look like trouble.

"Oh! You said something about tests today?" I say then stuff my face with a waffle.

"Oh ya, your supposed to get tested to see what your powers are..I've heard it can painful but most people forget the experience, me being one of them." He said

"POWERS?"

"Oh ya i forgot you were new, basically everyone here has some sort of..power, or something along the lines of that." He said

"Wait so you have a power too?"

"Yup, bas-" he was cut off as a gaurd walked up quickly to us,
"Are you Denki Minimato?" The gaurd stated looking straight at me

"Y-yes sir but wh-"

"Follow me" she stated then started to head off somewhere.

I glance at Jacob who only nods in her direction so i get up and quickly follow just behind her.
We go through a maze of seemingly endless hallways, neither of us staying anything until we turn tbe corner to a door with a keycard lock. The gaurd swipes het card and opens the door pushing me in and closing it behind me.

I look up seeing the room has an assortment of machines, torture chambers, tanks, pods, and protected areas you can observe from. There are about 9 or 10 scientists scurrying about readying the machine. I feel a sharp pain in your neck and turn to see a scientist holding an empty shot just before unwillingly closing my eyes. The next few hours are a blur if pain, pleasure, stress, and a feeling in my nerves i cant quite explain.

Suddenly after blinking a few times I recognize the inside of my parents old car. I look around me seeing my little sister, 7 years old on her tablet sketching, at the moment I am 12 years old, making this 2 years go.

I have a bad feeling and cant shake it but dont remember why.

I look forawards seeing that mom and dad are yelling at each other again. He seems to be screaming, red in the face, she is the same but crying, I dont hear them though, I dont hear anything.

Mom stops gets on a highway, dad continues to yell at her. She finally screams back and i see him snap, slapping her, my mom shocked swerves a bit and my sister's tablet lands on my lap but i dont notice because i seem to be shaling in rage.

I finally open my mouth screaming at him, unnoticedly the tablet gets drained and the engine stops, he looks shocked that i am standing up to him and before it can turn to anger suddenly there is a flash of blue light and my nerves feel like they are on fire.

I see the car engine explode as a semi is turning, its equipment failing the driver tries to move it but runs into a side but the back continues sliding and falls over in front of us, i black out waking with thr scent of fire and blood fresh, i see my parents on the ground, my sister is carried into an ambulance on a stretcher just before i am.

I begin to remember now, in a few weeks i will wake in a hospital bed, my sister is across from me with burns and cuts, she is paralyzed from the legs down and her heart is having problems. She will die in a matter of days.

Feeling the same nerve burning feeling i felt before i jolt upwards, I'm back in the room with scientists, they looked shocked, quite literally as their hair was standing as if from static electricity, all the machines are malfunctioning and a scientist lays nearby unconscious.

I try to get up but only fall again feeling weak and drained, i realize the power is out and blackout lights are on.

I see a scientist run towards me but i move to the sife tripping him and slide to a wall before a soldier runs in.

"I think he has had enough! What just happened proved the theories! He is stressed enough leave him be." He says then picks me up and carries me back to the room, on the way i see soldiers escorting people to their rooms as well.

Im layed on the bed and i lay there unmoving and dont notice Jacob come in and ask me questions, he gives up laying down as well.

Before i know it its noon and someone comes in announcing that its time for lunch, i finally snap out of it and shoot up.

"Back to earth huh?" Jacob says a little worried handing me a report. "this is the conclusion from what they have gathered so far"

I read over it:
'The subject has 10x the amount of electricity running througb him at all times, in severe stress or in a threat such as with the bully it may be released maybe even directed. The fact the power went out gives the possibility he can drain and direct electricity, even controlling it if you will. He will be trained along with the others, hopefully soon we may understand all of this and he will soon be able to control his power.' It ends with a signature of a scientist, i crumple up the paper tossing it into the trashcan as i leave the room.

"Where are you going? I would think you'd be shocked about this" he says

"To get lunch, and i dont believe the bullshit happening right now. I mean sure it'd be cool if powers exist and i had some, but im not ganna believe that it really is." I say walking towards the cafeteria.

Jacob sighs "you'll understand soin enough, you do begin class tomorrow anyways"

"Mmmhmm"

We grab lunch and as i eat I see a kid sitting alone and lead us over to sit with him.

"Hey mind if we sit with you?" I ask setting my food down

"N-No problem!" The boy says looking quite shocked

"What did a ghost scare ya or something" Jacob says sarcastically

"N-no its just that n-noone really s-sits with me" The boys says already looking close to tears

"Jesus Christ i can see why" Jacob says

"Well we dont mind, I'm Denki, his name's Jacob" i say to him

"My name's chris" He says "Nice to meet you two"

Suddenly someone walks up to Chris

???:"Heya pall who are these punks? Your not trying to replace us right bud?"

"N-no Wade" Chris says back looking down a bit

"Is this guy trying to threaten you Chris?!" I say

"No no no.. im just a good friend thats all, arent i Chris?" Wade says

"Ya...." Chris says

"Good." Wade says and starts heading back to a group of friends.

"Well then.." Jacob says

"What?"

"Thats the royals" he says looking at them "Their not royalty or anything but they ARE popular and have strong powers"

"Well as long as they aren't messing with Chris I'll leave them be" i say

"Y-yeah..." Chris says not looking at us but at his food secretly tearing up
