Last year on Christmas Eve
~Taylor POV~
This morning, I woke up with the biggest smile on my face. Grant wasn't with me right now,but I knew that he was excited too. This was going to be our first Christmas together as a couple, and not as just friends. I know for a fact that I am going to remember this Christmas forever.
Selena was going to organize a huge party at her house and everybody was invited. The band mates, the dancers, most of my other friends and even some of our family members. I did some last minute gift wrapping, thinking that nothing could ever go wrong.
My mood dropped a tiny bit when I realized that Meredith wouldn't be able to attend the party, but she'd get trampled on there. I gave her some cat treats I bought as a Christmas present for my beloved cat and spent most of the afternoon playing with her. I don't even know why, but I sang Christmas carols to Meredith. I am so weird! 'But Grant is so much weirder!' I smiled, thinking of my love.
I didn't want to be late on this special day, so I allotted quite a bit of time for showering and getting ready. As usual, I sung some of my own songs in the shower. Call me crazy, but I swear that I could hear Meredith meowing the melody to them. I quickly dried off and followed Meredith into the bedroom. I sometimes think that my cat is able to read my mind. As I predicted, Meredith walked over to my closet and started scratching it lightly with her paw. Oh, what a cute cat!! I slid open the door and Mer immediately jumped onto a shelf which contained a single outfit. I leaned in to take a closer look and noticed a gorgeous cat dress neatly folded up with a note on top of it. I unfold it and read, "Put this on for the Christmas party please. You'll look beautiful (like always)!!!!! Love, Grant "
"How did he do this?" I wonder aloud.
"And how did you know?" I ask, turning towards my cat. This dress really is flawless. If I can't bring my cat to the party, I'll just be a cat.
I put the dress on and walk over to the mirror and gasp. I just love this dress!! Meredith rubs against my legs. I bet she appreciates Grant's gift too.
I'm too busy admiring the dress and wondering how Grant managed to deliver it here that I lose track of the time. Before I know it, I only have a few minutes to do my hair and makeup.
I finish quickly, hug Meredith goodbye and walk out onto the porch. There's a light breeze tonight, but I don't mind the cold. Tonight's party is all I can really think about at the moment.
I check my phone. He should be here any minute now. I wait for a while, but his car is nowhere in sight. I decide to wait for a bit longer. Knowing Grant, one wouldn't be very surprised if the guy showed up late. But today is special and he had promised that he'd be here and that he'd be here on time.
I wait until I begin to lose faith. The party is about to start and Grant hasn't even called, let alone texted. Has he forgotten about me? I begin to panic. How could he ever? I thought he loved me like I loved him. What if I was mistaken. But there's still something that tells me that Grant still loves me and that he meant to come on time to day. Typically, I am a patient person, but not today. I'm tired of waiting. What if he isn't going to come. A tear begins to roll down my cheeck as endless possibilities flash through my mind.
