Chapter 5

We drove into the town it was dark and you couldn't see anything and then we come to a stop. Then banging, at first we couldn't figure out where it was coming from, then we heard it again. It was coming from the back window. I look back and hear a scream.

It takes me a minute to realize I was the one who screamed,.

"Erica! What is it?"

"I...... I saw a person. No, not a person a ....." I stutter.

"A Vampire, a demon, a griffon, I know for sure it's not an angel. So maybe a werewolf, manticore, Minotaur, a ghoul, or maybe medusa." He replies calmly, shaking a little, but still calm.

I stare at him and he looks at me,"I was going to tell you later on, but it looks as if this is the only way you can stay safe."

"W... what... what... do you m..m...mean?" I stutter.

"I mean that I know about these creatures." His arm makes a gesture towards the back, "Ever since I was 14."

I gape at him,"What? How do you know about these... these... these creatures?"

He turns and looks me in the eye, "I know about these creatures because I have been turned to one of them."

I stare. He looks scared and upset,"It's okay, I am not going to run. I know you better. I think, wait! I know that you wouldn't hurt somebody on purpose. Which one are you?"

He's silent for a while then he answered, " I'm a vampire and a skin walker." He looks guilty,"I'm so sorry Erica. I didn't think they would be here which is why I came."

I'm afraid now,"It's okay, come on let's go somewhere else."

He took us back to his house in under a minute.

"How...?" I questioned him.

"Remember? I'm a vampire, I can run and drive very fast! Sometimes too fast."

I hug him, "I'm glad we're back home."

"Me too." He picks me up and twirls around, "God I love you Erica."

"I love you, too, Ryan." I kiss him on the cheek,"I do have one question?"

He pulls away slowly, lingering, "What is it?"

"Why didn't you tell me?" I'm not mad, I'm just curious.

He sighs,"I guess...." he hesitates,"I guess I was scared you wouldn't want to be around me anymore.... I mean... since I'm.... you know."

I pull him to me,"I could never stay away from you. Just because your a vampire doesn't change anything! I still love you just the same way." I pause, and just to joke around I say,"Maybe a bit more!"

He's laughing now, hugging me... and then he starts crying.

"Ryan, please don't cry." I wipe the tears away, "I love you! How could you think that I wouldn't want to be around you?"

"Idk Erica, I don't know." He answers kissing me," I really don't know. I do know that I love you though."

"Love you too." I hug him, "Come on let's go watch a movie."

"Kk, let's get some popcorn too."

"Definitely! Which room will we watch the movie in?"

"How about the..." He pauses.

"Go on."

"How 'bout the Attic?"

"The attic! Seriously!?" I exclaim. Ryan has a huge attic! It's also fully furnished, has a huge flat screen TV, a huge bed, a bathroom that is almost all diamond or crystal, wooden floors with carpets, and computers, too!

"Yeah, why not? After all it's my room." He says as I hug him.

"Come on let's go! I love you so much Ryan!"

"Ok ok!" He runs to catch up to me, and soon enough the popcorn is ready and we're headed up the stairs to the attic.

"I forgot how pretty it was up here. " I say as we enter the attic, "It hasn't changed a bit since last time I saw it."

"No it hasn't. I like to keep it like this. It's kind of like times frozen. I mean when I'm up here...... It's almost as if...." He stutters and sits on the bed.

"As if your parents were still here." I whisper,"I'm so sorry Ryan."

"No it's okay," he says, getting up and grabbing the remote,"let's just watch the movie. Whatcha want to watch anyways?"

Ryan and I were sitting on the couch for about 2 or 3 hours when we hear somebody at the door.

"Ryan? You hear that?" I whisper, holding him by his arm.

"Yeah, I hear it. Come on let's go see what it is together." He answers, his arm wrapping around my shoulder as we walk towards the door. He looks through the peephole,"Oh! It's just Allie!"

I sigh a breath of relief and open the door,"Allie!" I wrap her in a huge hug and tell her,"I completely forgot to tell Ryan that you were going to come over for a while. To be honest I kinda forgot about your coming myself!"

She smiles me,"I'm going to be honest to you too, I almost forgot to come over here myself."

"You should probably come in." Ryan says looking around.

"Yeah come in." I say, ushering her in.

We sit down on the couch and talk for hours. "I wish it could be like this forever, but it can't." I think in my head, " someday I'll have to go. Ryan and I talked about it. He'll turn me into a Vampire like him and we'll find a way to get away from the rest of these creatures."

"Erica? Earth to Erica!" Ryan is waving his hand in front of my face saying this.

"Sorry I must've been daydreaming." I reply.

"It's okay. I think I'm going to go home now, k?" Allie says.

"Kk I'll talk to you later." I get up and walk her to the door, "Be careful."

She looks at me,"I will." then she walks to her car and gets in.

I stare at her car until I can no longer see it. I mumble,"Be very careful. You don't know what is out there." then I go back inside
