Emma's Prov
*5 days later*
The doorbell ringed and i jumped knowing that it was Karen with baby Leah. I opened the door and smiled at the sight of Leah.
"Hey Hon, i'm so sorry about your Dad." She said walking in to the house."
"Thank you." I said
We walked to the living room where we sat down. Karen got Leah out of the carrier, and she handed her to me.
"So are you ready to take care of her?" Karen asked
"Yea, i'm really excited." I told her rocking Leah in my arms
"Where is Josh?" She asked
"He is upstairs in the nursery making sure everything is ready." I told her
Me and Josh didn't sleep very well last night. I didn't because of my Dad and Josh was to busy making sure everything was safe for Leah. He is going to be such a great Father.
"So have you heard anything about your Dad?" Karen asked me
"No not yet, Me and Josh are planning on bring Leah over to see him." I told her
"That sounds like a great Idea." She said
"Yea," I said
"Well I got to get going, my plain is leaving at 4 and you know the kind of air ports we have." Karen said smiling
I laughed and nodded in agreement.
Karen bent down and kissed Leah on her head and left. I grabbed the bag that Karen brought with her. Everything was moved in to the house yesterday when me and the family were at the hospital.I walked upstairs with Leah in my arms. I walked in to the nursery and saw Josh checking over the crib for the hundredth time.
"Josh the crib is fine." I said sighing
"I know." he said turning around.
He walked over to me and Leah and gave both of us a kiss.
"When did she get here?" he asked me
"A couple of minutes ago." I told him sitting down on the rocking chair that was in the corner.
"Oh, where is Karen?" He asked
"She is on her way to the airport right now." I said
"She was so nice to give Leah back to us." He said.
"Yea i know." I said looking down at her and smiled.
Leah looked at me then gave her to Josh. She looked at him and her eyes watered and she startes Crying. I looked up at Josh who looked at me in shock. I busted out laughing and Josh glared at me.
" It's not funny." He said.
"Yes it is, you should've seen your face." I said.
I got up and took Leah in to my arms and started rocking her in my arms while singing the man who can't be moved to her. She stopped crying and looked at me with her big eyes. I smiled at this and Josh came around and wrapped his arms around my waist and put his chin and my shoulder and looked down at Leah.
"You are going to be a great mom." He said
"And your going to be a great dad." I told him looking up at him.
"I love you." He said
"I love you too!" I said kissing him.
Leah made a little giggling sound that sounded like a laugh. I looked down in shocked and laugh
"Well I think someone likes us kissing." Joshed said.
"Yup." I said smiling.
"You want to go visit your dad now?" He asked.
"Yea, let's go." I said grabbing Leah's bag.
We walked downstairs and out the door, i buckled in Leah in to her car sit, and went to the Drivers seat with josh next to me. I pulled out and headed to the hospital to see my dad.
I pulled in to the parking lot and found a parking spot. I got out and unbuckled Leah who was smiling every time a bird flew by,the things that fascinate babes. I smiled and we walked in to the hospital. We walked to my dad's room and I saw my mom sitting down next to my dad.
She looked over at the door and smiled when she saw us with Leah. She stood up and came over to us and gave me a huge hug. I know this has been really hard on my mom to see her husband looking lifeless looking. I gave her a big squeeze before letting go of her.
"She looks so much like you." My mom said looking down at Leah who was in the carrier.
"I know, she is so beautiful." Josh said.
I walked over to my dad and kissed him on the cheek.
"We Brought someone to see you." I said to him. I knew there wasn't going to be a answer but I was hoping there would be.
Josh came over and unhooked Leah and put her in my arms.
"Leah this is your grandpa." I said. Leah made the giggling sound again and I started to cry a little.
"And this is your grandma." I said moving my boby so Leah was looked at My mom.
"Grandpa is hurt right now but don't worry he is going to be okay." I said to her. I knew she didn't understand what i was saying but it made me feel better.
"Babe Are you okay?" Josh asked.
"Yea, i'm fine." I said, using my shoulder I whipped my eyes.
"Okay, So has there been any kind of news?" Josh asked my mom
"No, not yet, the doctors come in every now and then to check up on him." She said
We just stood in silence, it wasn't uncomfortable silence but a nice one. It was until we heard coughing. We all looked ay my dad who was awake but coughing really badly. My mom ran out and yelled for help, while Josh ran over and hit the emergancy button. Soon there was a ton of doctors and Nurses who rushed out of the room and started taking care of my dad. My mom was in the hall wall crying her eyes out with Josh patting her back trying to comfert her. While I was trying to calm down Leah who was crying cause of all the motion going on. I was bouncing her up and down when the doctor came out.
"So is everything okay?" I asked while my mom made her way over.
"Yes, everything is okay , your Dad is going to be fine, we gave him something to make him sleep but he will be awake soon." He said.
"Thank you so much." I said
My mom came over to me and gave me a hug, I started to cry, but not out of Saddness but out of happiness. MY dad was going to be okay and I had Leah. Right now my life is okay.
