Y/n pov I got off of the bus and started to walk toward the school and Taylor came over and started talking with me. Hey, Tay. I said as I smiled. Morning Sunshine. Taylor said grinning. So, you going to rehearsals today? I asked Taylor as we continued walking. Uh, like I have a choice? You got us into this, which I don't understand considering you may not even be here for the show. Have you told anyone you're up for Stanford's freshman honors program? Taylor asked me. No. I said shaking my head. Well, you're going be to be hearing from them any day now. Hello. Taylor said loudly as my phone started to ring. I opened my bag and grabbed my phone. Taylor, these need time. I said before I looked at my phone and saw it was Troy calling and I picked up my phone. Hey. I said through the phone. I need you right now. Troy said through the phone. What? I asked confused. Look up. Troy told me and I looked up the roof of the school and saw Troy waving at me to go up there and I start laughing. I have to go. I told Taylor while still looking at Troy. This has two weeks of detention written all over it. Taylor told me. I just shook my head and headed inside the school. Have fun. Taylor called after me. I walked up the stairs to the roof and saw Troy standing there by the railing of the stairs looking at me. I really need your help. Troy told me. Which one should I wear? Troy asked me gesturing to different suit jackets and dress shirts he had hanging up. Because? I asked while walking over to him. Because you're going to have a pretty dress. So I want to look right. Troy told me holding them up. Well, I've never been asked to a prom but this almost sounds like an invitation. This one. I said taking one of the jackets off the hanger. He took off his flannel shirt leaving him in a white t-shirt. He turned around so he was facing away from me and I helped put the jacket on. I've never been to a dance, much less prom. But I was hoping these might be a good start. Troy said and I turned around to face him and saw him holding two tickets to the prom. I smiled up happily at Troy. Do you think we're going to have to waltz? Cause I have no idea how to do that. Troy said to me and I laughed a little bit. All I know is that my dad taught me and Gabriella when we were little girls. We would stand on his toes and he waltz us around the living room. Come here, I'll show you. I said grabbing Troy's hand and dragged him to the center of the rooftop. Come here, you'll love it. I told Troy and he came over to where I was standing.

Y/n: Take my hand, take a breath

Pull me close and take one step

Keep your eyes locked on mine

And let the music be your guide

Troy&Y/n: Won't you promise me now (now won't you promise me, you'll never forget)

We'll keep dancing ( to keep dancing) wherever we go next

It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you

It's one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do

And with every step together, we just keep on getting better

So can I have this dance ( Can I have this dance)

Troy: Take my hand, I'll take the lead

And with every turn will be safe with me

Don't be afraid, afraid to fall

You'll know I'll catch you when threw it all

Troy&Y/n: And you can't keep us apart ( Even thousand miles, can't keep us apart)

Cause my heart is ( cause my heart is) wherever you are

It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you

It's one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do

And with every step together, we just keep on getting better

So can I have this dance ( can I have this dance)

Can I have this dance

Troy&Y/n: Oh no mountains too high enough, oceans too wide

Cause together or not our dance won't stop

Let it rain, let it pour

What we have is worth fighting for

You know I believe, that we were meant to be

Troy and I both looked up to the sky as we heard thunder but we continued anyway

It's like catching lightning the chances of finding someone like you ( like you)

It's one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do ( Way we do)

And with every step together, we just keep on getting better

So can I have this dance ( can I have this dance)

It starts to pour and Troy spun me around as the rain poured down on us.

Can I have this dance

Can I have this dance

Can I have this dance

We started laughing as the rain continued to come down

So is that a yes? Troy asked me smiling.

In every language. Wi. Si. Yeah. Yes. I said as I smiled at him. I leaned up and went to kiss him on the lips when the bell rang. I gasped. Come on. I said before running away to get inside. I was at rehearsal with everyone else. I was talking with Gabriella when Ryan was doing this weird yoga thing. Arms, 2, 3, 4, 5,6, 7,8. Ryan said as he shows us what do to. Instead Gabby and I do our dance we've been working on at home the past 4 weeks. Whoa, Go Y/n go, Gabriella! My smart best friends grin. I look at Gabriella with a smirk. Gabby smirked back. Alright Alright. Ryan said laughing. Oh, come on Ryan! I saw the way you were looking at my sister! I winked. Then Troy Chad came running in holding Rocketman and his friend follow them. I saw Troy and Chad having their clothes and the freshman in nothing but towels. Everyone starts to laugh. I gasped and turned to Taylor. Yearbook opportunity. I told Taylor hitting her arm. Taylor gasped and quickly bent down to get her camera from her bag. Photo opt. Taylor said as when in front of them and bent down. Smile. Taylor told them and took a picture. Miss Darbus walked over to them as everyone kept laughing. Troy walks over to me and wraps his arms around my waist. Thank you. I sang. Your welcome. Troy laughs. Hi. Rocketman said to Miss Darbus. I giggled. Bold choice, gentleman. We all must have the courage to discover ourselves. However, at East High, we will discover ourselves whilst clothed. But welcome to our Drama Club and our Spring Musicale. Darbus said and everyone cheered. Yeah. Welcome. Troy said between laughs. I hit his arm laughing. Troy! I giggled. Miss Darbus walked over to Troy and Chad. The stage crew could use your help during detention, painting sets. Miss Darbus said. Throw a sheet over them. Miss Darbus told Troy and Chad. Ryan. Miss Darbus said as she walked off. Ryan returned to the front. Ok alright, guys lets go back up to the top. Jason, why don't you come down here and help me out? Ryan said. After School Troy drove me to my house in his truck. We were lucky it didn't break down. I was trying not to laugh. A work in progress. Troy grins at me. If my truck falls apart because I am spending all my free time on the stage, it is all your fault. Troy said to me. Do you really think I would be spending all my time on stage if it wasn't for you. Troy said. We go out to my backyard. You know what, I do. I told Troy. What? Troy asked. You're so good. Troy, I watched you in rehearsals, you love it. Why is that so hard for you to admit? I asked as we sit down in my hammock. You know their happy only if we all talking about U of A. You chose Stanford. U of A was sort chosen for me. I haven't talked to anyone about this but I had offers from other colleges. I'm really listening. Troy told me. Your dad and Chad will understand what you want Troy and I get it, Troy. I still have decisions to make too. I said thinking about Stanford honors program. Like what? Troy asked. I was about to tell him about the program but my sister came out back. Oh, I thought I heard you guys. Gabriella said. Mum just got down making snacks inside. Are you hungry? Gabriella asked. We just stared at her. I interrupted something, didn't I? Gabriella asked and I slightly nodded at her. Just talking Gabbys. I told her. Homework. Troy said. Okay, Gabby said and went back inside. Speaking about homework. I stood up and held my hand out to Troy. Come on. I said to Troy. I was joking. Troy told me laughing a little.
