Piper looked around the class and groups of people were talking. Everyone belonged to a group, well mostly. Piper didn't belong to one though. Could she join a group, sure. She just didn't fit into one of the groups though. That wasn't the only thing she didn't fit into though. She knew the populars would take her in. She was rich.

They would want her because of her dad. Most people around the school knew he was an actor. They wanted her in their group because of that. And only that. People cared too much about money. And appearance.

She should know that speaking that she's a model. It was a way she could get her dad to pay attention to her. Or she thought it was a way she could get him to pay attention to her. It hadn't worked yet. It probably wouldn't work.

She had tried almost everything to get his attention. She had tried getting straight A's, straight F's, stealing, and a whole long list of things. She could use her dad to get the popular kids to quit messing with her. All it takes is her threatening to get her dad to buy out the queen bee's father's company.

So the only things she had was leverage, and a job. She looked around the teacher was no where to be seen. Piper then done something that was against the rules. She got her phone out, and threw ear buds in it. Her phone started to play a random song. The song was King.

You're alone, you're on your own, so what?

Those lyrics hit too close to home qnd Piper just bit her lip.

Have you gone blind?
Have you forgotten what you have and what is yours?

She had whatever she wanted, except her father's attention and approval.

Glass half empty, glass half full
Well either way you won't be going thirsty
Count your blessings not your flaws

How could she count her blessings when she had so many flaws.

You've got it all

If only that was the truth.

You lost your mind in the sound
There's so much more
You can reclaim your crown
You're in control
Rid of the monsters inside your head

The monsters are right though they lead her this far and they can lead her even smaller.

Put all your faults to bed
You can be king again

She had too many faults you couldn't hid them that easy.

You don't get what all this is about
You're too wrapped up in your self doubt

But her self doubt kept her safe, it kept her from getting hurt, mentally and physically.

You've got that young blood, set it free

If only it was that easy.

You've got it all
You lost your mind in the sound
There's so much more
You can reclaim your crown
You're in control
Rid of the monsters inside your head
Put all your faults to bed
You can be king

There's method in my madness
There's no logic in your sadness

There is method in her sadness though.

You don't gain a single thing from misery
Take it from me

She had always tried to block out misery, do stuff to take her mind off things like that.

You've got it all

She didn't feel like she had it all.

You lost your mind in the sound
There's so much more
You can reclaim your crown
You're in control
Rid of the monsters inside your head
Put all your faults to bed
You can be king

You've got it all
You lost your mind in the sound
There's so much more
You can reclaim your crown
You're in control
Rid of the monsters inside your head
Put all your faults to bed
You can be king again

She then realized how much she could relate to this song. Maybe someday she could email the singer about it. She wondered what inspired her to write it.

The next song came on but she wasn't really paying attention she was just thinking.
