Castiel was getting worse, so much worse. It was to the point where he had constant dark circles under his eyes. His skin was unbelievably chalky, and pale. Yet he continued to walk around like none of this was affecting him.

He and I had become much closer, we hadn't kissed since the time when I first attempted to restore his soul to him but he would hold my hand when we were alone, and sometimes when I had nightmares he would hold me until I got back to sleep.

We were basically a couple; and it scared me. I was always so worried about him; especially, since his physical health was declining.

"Ella..." I was sitting in the Library, looking through lore when I hear Dean's voice.

"What do you need Dean-o?" I asked, I had taken to calling Dean by the nickname Gabriel awarded him it was actually pretty catchy.

"We need to talk," he said, flopping unceremoniously into the chair directly facing me. "About Cas." he finished, and my body froze.

"What about Cas?" I asked, biting my lip as I stared down at the words on the paper.

"Ella, you need to give it back to him. You know how and we know how to take care of the consequences. He's getting sicker, and you know it. How much more time can we possibly take?" he asked. His voice was hard, and low. But he was being reasonable.

I nodded slightly, "I know...I know Dean. But I'm just so scared that Lucifer will get out...he's gonna come after me." I whispered.

"Look, you can't be afraid of him forever. Sure, he may get out but we'll just shut his ass back up. But Cas needs to be your number one priority." he tilted my head up, making me look into his apple green eyes. Hard with some kind of unspoken knowledge.

"But...I-"

"Ella. Please, i'm not asking." Dean rose from his seat and made his way out of the room without another word.

I closed the book and sighed, it wasn't often that Dean was right. But this time he was. It wasn't like I didn't want to make Cas better, it's just that I didn't know the extent of Lucifer's powers and it terrified me. But it needed to be done.

"Ella?" Castiel asked, walking into my room. I had been done looking at lore for hours now and I was just waisting my life away watching Jacksepticeye videos.

But for him I closed my laptop, standing up and moving my over sized hoodie so that it covered me. "Yeah Cas, what's up?" I asked, giving him a smile.

"Sam and Dean have left for a case and ordered me to stay inside. Would you consider accompanying me in their departure?" He asked and I grinned.

"Of course Cas. I mean if we're stuck together then it may as well spend our time together." I got up and began to walk out of the room when I felt a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and a head rested on my shoulder.

"This, makes me very happy..." he said before he took a hesitant chance and kissed my cheek before letting me go. Red faced I made my way downstairs.

"Uhh, how about a movie?" I asked and he grinned. I couldn't help but notice how tired he looked. But I disregarded it. He would be better soon.

"I would love to watch a movie." he said, slowly walking over to the couch. I had taught him how to use Netflix the week before and he had been a whiz ever since.

"You can pick the movie and I'll get snacks." I said, hurrying into the kitchen, grabbing a bag of popcorn and putting it into the microwave.

Silently, I walked back into the living room as the popcorn popped. Castiel was leaning forward on the couch, focused and using the remote to scroll through the Netflix feed. He was such a clueless little angel, even if he was getting better.

When the microwave beeped I went back to the kitchen, grabbing it out and putting the contents of the bag into a bowl before making my way back to the ex-angel.

~

Turns out that this was the first time Cas had eaten popcorn. He took one piece, trying it at first and the next thing I know half of the bowl is gone. So I decided to get comfortable by leaning against the ex-angel. He in turn wrapped an arm around my shoulders and I couldn't help but smile.

Castiel ended up picking some cheesey romance movie. I don't understand why, when there are thousands of movies on the site. But I didn't mind.

I spent most of the movie tucked underneath the ex-angel's arm, a small smile sat on my lips. I watched as the two main characters leaned in, having their first kiss and giving into the temptation of each other at last.

But that was when I felt fingers on my chin and I looked up to see the bright blue eyes of Castiel. I could feel his warm breath on my face. I felt exhilarated, having never seen him like this.

Then, his lips were on mine, he may not have been experienced at all but his lips were delicate as he kissed me. And that was when it hit me, it was time.

I slowly wrapped my arms around his neck, and he didn't object. He just pulled me closer, kissing me deeper.

I could feel it. Like liquid light as I inwardly untangled his grace from my own essence and I put it back into him. It left my body as smoothly, and as brightly as it came in. But then he was pushing me back, away from him.

I fell to the other side of the couch and Cas rose off of it. His eyes were glowing a bright, bluish light and I could see the shadows of his wings stretched across the wall behind him.

They were so broken. I could see the feathers falling from them even in the darkness that was their shadows and how turn the ligaments were.

When Cas had stopped glowing the looked like a whole new person. He also looked extremely worried.

"Ella...what did you do?" he came over, putting a hand on my forehead. Why did I feel like I was going to puke, and pass out? At the same time. There was nothing but nausea and light headedness, and then a heavy burst of pain throughout my body.

All I could here was the echo of my name coming from Castiel's lips, immediately following that, was darkness.
