a/n: so this chapter is going to be where riley and lucas meet so it wont be in text. but i swear lucas and maya will become something just be patient. 😌

riley waited at topangas, for lucas and she couldnt stop thinking about seeing him after many years. she also couldnt stop thinking about why lucas didnt want maya to come. it had been five minutes and she got tired of waiting and began to text maya.

riles:
come to topangas peachess

maya:
if lucas is there
then hell no

riles:
hes not here:(

10 minutes..

riley smiled at her phone as maya told her she would come. "riley?" a deep male voice said. riley turned her head and looked at the male. it was lucas. she examined his features noticing how much he changed. "lucas! hi." she said happily as she stood up walking to him. they both smiled at eachother. "you have changed, a lot." lucas said with a chuckle. "you too!" she said.

topanga walked over to the two, handing them both smoothies, and she walked back behind the counter. "should we sit?" riley asked. lucas nodded in response. they sat and trailed off about stuff that happened over the years.

maya walked up to the door of topangas looking inside, seeing a laughing riley and lucas. she examined lucas seeing how different he looked. she just couldnt believe it was him, she wanted the second time to be good, not like it is would be now. she couldnt walk in.

maya:
you lied.

riley picked up her phone checking in. she seen the message and looked out the door to see maya on her phone. "hey, ill be right back." riley said as she stood up looking down at him as he nodded in response.

riley walked out and walked over to maya who was startled by her. "i didnt lie okay, i didnt think he would come. please dont be mad." riley said sincerely as she looked at maya. maya shook her head. "im out of here." maya said as she trailed off. "wait, maya!" riley attempted to say before she walked off.

maya walked home in frustration thinking about riley with lucas, and why lucas didnt choose to her instead. she continued to walk as she heard she received a message on her phone.

riles:
maya, why are you acting like this?

maya:
like what? i told you i didnt want to be there while hes there.

riles:
why?

maya:

no why would you think that?

riley:
you know what,
nevermind ill talk to you later

riley typed as she walked in back to see lucas waiting. "sorry, i was talking to maya." she said. he looked at her as she sat next to him. "shes here?" he asked in a concerned tone. riley shook her head. "no, well she was but she left.. i told her to come because i thought you might not show up." she said looking down.

he chuckled at her response. "well im here." he said with a smirk. riley looked up and turned to him.

"hey, lucas can i ask you something?" she asked. he nodded and looked at her. "why didnt you want maya to come?" she asked.

"i-i guess i was just nervous? she would probably hate me in person." he answered truthfully. she nodded, "but why? have you talked to her?" she asked.

"yeah.. you didnt know?" he asked, she lied and said yes. "hey, i have to get home now. but we should meet up again soon." he suggested.

they both smiled at eachother, and they both left minutes later.
