Chapter 6: Come Upon

Kelisse and Sabina have been going to the mall after class for five consecutive days already. Kelisse could not say no to Sabina but she had made clear to her that they should not make it a habit which relieved her for she has agreed on it. When she arrived home, she told her mom that she would not take dinner because they already had it at the mall before they left. She threw herself on bed as soon as she got in her room. The day was so exhausting for her. She still hasn't used on how energetic Sabina can be from going to one place to another and to another then to another again that caused her legs and feet to terribly sore considering they've been doing that in almost a week. It was something she had never expected from her from the start. It was way too opposite of her first impression on her that she thought she was of a prim and proper type, a type who's picky on who she wants to be friends with and the type who puts on airs. Fortunately, she's not like that, a proof that first impressions are not always accurate. First impressions make you judgmental most of the times.

......

Meanwhile, Ames, Ricky and Brett have released a statement regarding the cockroach incident. They knew that they must not be complacent. There were never a day they would not talk about that matter. Even though they were out and having drinks again in a bar that night.

"Who could it be?" Ames on the thinking if somebody is sabotaging them.

"Could it be that woman who applied but got rejected because of us? Maybe she's taking revenge against us." Ricky blurted as if he's very sure.

"Rick, we shouldn't jump into conclusion like that. If she really likes LimeLite, she wouldn't do that." Brett calmly uttered.

"Well, Brett has a point, Ricky." Ames backed him up.

"Are you guys siding with whoever that bitch is?" Ricky snapped.

Brett heaved an exasperated sigh. "Ricky, we can't just accuse the girl. We have no proof. All I said was don't jump into conclusion." he reiterated.

"Guys, keep your cool. We aren't going anywhere if you keep barking at each other." Ames said, rubbing his temple.

......

The next day, Kelisse has thought of going to the bookstore, which is in the mall, before going to the academy. She always has her eyes on those books and magazines that have to do with baking and pastries every time she would drop by. Although everything about those could be easily found in the internet, she prefers and is always fascinated seeing those colorful and mouth-watering desserts and confectioneries over those hard bound and glossy thick pages. After staying there for almost a couple of hour, she headed to LimeLite. It's just walking distance away from the mall. It has been a while since she last visited the cafe. She missed staying there for hours but she couldn't be spending more time because of her classes so she just ordered Peppermint Milk Tea so that she has something to sip on while she's on the way to her school. She's just going to grab her lunch in the school canteen.

She's in a jeepney when Sabina texted asking her whereabouts and also said she hopes that she'll join her for lunch. Hmm, what a good timing, Sab. "Alright, just wait for me. I'm on the way." she texted back.

"Hey, what made you think to have your lunch here?" Kelisse asked as soon as she found Sabina in the cafeteria.

"I'm annoyed with my brother." she blurted grumpily.

"Oh, it's not new." she shrugged as she put her things beside her. "Is he insisting of fetching you again after class?"

She snorted. "Yeah, and I hate it." putting more stress on the 'hate' word. "Come on! Can't they see? I'm not a kid anymore. I'm sick of saying that over and over to them. They won't just listen."
