Winter Showcase!

Rachels POV

It was the night of the Winter Showcase.I wore a beautiful white dress that was down to my ankles. It had little sparkles on it. The showcase had already began because I can hear Carmen Tibideaux talking. I was too nervous. I was on the stairs pacing back and forth. Finn was on his way and Kurt was in the room watching the performances. I just needed a minute to breathe. 

"Wow you look beatiful" I turn around to see Finn. I smiled at him. "Thank you." He kissed my cheek. I guess my nerves were showing."You look nervous." I just smile and nod a little. "I just feel like...like I got this, you know? I just don't want to jinx myself." 

"Look Rachel, you're here because you are the best of the best. You have such an amazing talent and anyone who is anyone can see it. You're a star babe. Go show them what you got." He always makes me feel so much better. Instead of using words I kiss him to show my thanks for his pep talk. 

Just then Kurt ran out. "Hey! Rachel you're up!" I whisper to Finn, "we will continue this later on." He smiles and grabs my hand. We walk into the showroom and he takes a seat along with Kurt. 

Mrs. Tibideaux walked in front of everyone as I watched from the side stage. "The next performer is from the freshman class.Please welcome Miss Rachel Berry." I hear the applause and take my spot center stage. 

"Hi, I'm Rachel Berry and I'm just going to...sing for you." I said with a smile. The band began to play.

I finished my song. Tears were already developed in my eyes. Then. The most amazing thing occurred. I got a standing ovation. My heart was filled with so much happiness, I was about to burst into tears. Then Finn, along with many others, started screaming, "Encore!" Oh my goodness I can't believe this. 

I looked at Carmen, not knowing how to respond. She nodds towards the ocestra giving permission to perform another song. I go over and inform the band about the new song I would be singing. I come center stage again. 

"Um this is my favorite holiday song that I'd like to sing to you today."
