"Come on man. Just do it!" My best friend Danny was trying to convince me to 'make friends' with Alice Rose. By 'make friends' he meant to trick Alice into opening up, so her secrets can be spilled and ruin her self esteem for good.

Danny was a good guy, he just got swept up in the bad crowds. That includes following people who crush other people's dreams to become more popular than they already are.

Danny had short blonde hair and blue eyes. He was about six foot one with muscles that don't disappoint. Well, you kind of have to be that to be captain of the football team. He was pretty much the cute guy that all the girls want.

I on the other hand, am about six feet tall with curly black hair and brown eyes. I have the body of a swimmer and have an unhealthy obsession with video games. By obsession, I mean spend-the-week-on-the-Xbox-with-no-interruptions obsession.

It's bad.

Sometimes I will invite someone to play, but if I do that, it's a sure fire sign that you're special.

Alice was the school's looser, the girl in the back, the last one to be picked for a sports team in gym. She was the outcast that was bullied for being unique. Nobody even knows when she got to this school either, for all we know, she could have been here since preschool.

She was always quiet and alone in the back of the class. People beat up on her constantly and didn't care what she felt.

Alice was actually quite cute when you looked past the bruises, scars, and the fact she is painfully skinny. She's got long blonde hair that doesn't stay out of her face, her skin complexion was as white as snow and her eyes were a light blue that looked like the summer sky. Her glasses were blue and somehow made her eyes look big and beautiful.

In my words, I would call her pretty, in looks and personality. I once saw her give up her entire lunch to a homeless man walking by the side of the school. Whoever steals her heart, has got to be the luckiest man on earth.

No, I don't have a crush on her. Can't I appreciate someone's beauty from afar?

"Dude, there is no way in hell I'm going to do that! It's cruel and it would make me look like a monster." I shot back at him sounding angry. "Hey, nobody's going to notice. If she's getting beat up, no one will care." Danny pleaded with me to do it.

"Are you chicken? Is that what this is all about? Is Brendon a chicken?" I looked down, trying to control my anger.

"No, I'm not chicken. I just don't see the point in hurting someone for fun."

After what seemed like an eternity of pleading and bribing, I gave in.

I felt bad about it as soon as I said I would do it. I'm not the type of guy to bully someone to no end and hurt them out of the blue, but I can't stand being called chicken.

Well, I'd better introduce myself to this girl.
