Alice's POV

I was sitting on the bench outside of the school waiting for the bell to ring. The sun was just waking up, painting the sky in beautiful pink and orange hues. The moon and stars going to bed, letting the sun turn the cool night into a beautiful day.

I pull out my iPod wanting to pass the time with music. Putting the music on shuffle, I turn off my iPod and watch the sunrise, letting my thoughts consume me.

Hopefully, James and Kai forget me. They think it's their 'daily duty' to put me back into my miserable place. They would always beat me outside of the school building every day after school. I have bruises everywhere from them that refuse to heal and scars that I've had for years as proof of them beating me.

James was a tall teen with blonde hair and brown eyes. He was a jock, an awful, greedy jock. He was on the school's football team playing as a linebacker, but he also played basketball in his free time.

Kai on the other hand was a skinny red head. He played no sports whatsoever and somehow stays planted in the popular group.

I had my earbuds in listening to Disney music, when I sensed someone standing behind me. I ignored it and kept listening to my music. Suddenly I was knocked to the ground. I felt a burning sensation in my head as I tried to catch my breath that was knocked out of my lungs.

Kai slapped me upside the head then James pushed me down.

"What are you doing freak? Why are you out here alone?" James spat at me.

"Oh! It's because a loser like you would never have friends!" Kai sneered at me with disgust. I just laid there waiting for them to go away.

James and Kai have bullied me since the second grade. Every day they beat me up after school, then leave with proud faces like they defeated a monster. It got to the point where I would meet them after school, waiting for them to beat me, because if I didn't, they would find me and beat me there. And let's face it, I deserve everything coming to me.

They kicked me in the stomach and twisted my wrist. I bit my lip, trying not to whimper in pain and give them the satisfaction of inflicting pain on others. I felt my wrist twist in the wrong direction and tasted blood in my mouth from my biting my lip too hard.

James and Kai yelled words like 'freak', 'ugly', and 'emo fag'.

Whoever said the phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" obviously didn't have human emotions, because they hurt like a knife in the back. I just stayed on the ground curled in a ball, waiting for them to stop.

After a while they walked away. I definitely had new bruises, a split and bloody lip, and a sprained wrist. I slowly pulled myself up from the ground and tried to stand straight. When I stood, I looked around and realized there were other people watching me get beat up.

If they cared that a loser like me was being abused, they sure didn't show it. That's the problem with being bullied. Everybody encourages you to stand up and tell someone, but when you do, they don't believe it.

The two perfect angels couldn't possibly harm anyone. That's absurd! Why would you ever think that?

Even if someone wanted to do something, they wouldn't be able to. James is a valuable member in the school. He has everyone wrapped around his finger, even the school board.

I started walking towards my house when I felt lightheaded. Before I knew it, I was starting to fall. The darkness consumed me and I toppled over onto someone.
