(A/N: Guys, please stop reading this. The story itself sucks, and you see that it says discontinued in the title. It ends on a pretty major cliffhanger, and at this point there's basically no way I'm coming back to finish this. If your gonna read this, don't go complaining in the comments when you get to the end.)
(Nico)
The sudden blare of the alarms jolted me out of my sleep. Knowing what that meant, I jumped out of bed and quickly loaded my crossbow. Ever though I was only fourteen, I was apparently one of the best hunters in my di of the Hunter Association. I personally thought it was just sheer dumb luck mixed with pure rage and perseverance that kept my alive, but all the elites seem very impressed with me. I rolled my eyes at the thought. I joined the Association for two reasons: to survive and for revenge.A vampire killed my mother was I was too young to remember. Three years ago, one killed my sister; that time, I was there to watch--and I couldn't save her. The vampire was killed, sure, but that was enough for me. I wanted them all dead. I became a hunter so I could help to rid the world of those beasts in human form.
As I waited for orders with the other hunters, I glanced at one of the more experienced ones, Annabeth Chase, who seemed to be in deep thought. "What's up?" I asked her.
"Hm?" she looked over at me, "Oh, I was just thinking..."
I rolled my eyes. "You're always thinking. I want to know what it is you're thinking about.
She sighed. "It's just... These attacks are becoming less and less frequent. They hardly even attack en masse anymore. It's just the occasional human disappearances," she paused, "What could that mean?"
I thought for a moment. Of course, I'd noticed that this was happening less and less, but I'd never really thought much about it. "Personally, I think they're trying to lure us into a false sense of security so they can carry some evil, diabolical plan, but that's just me."
Annabeth started to say something, but the boss came in and started barking the same orders as always. Go in, kill as many as possible, save as many humans as possible, try not to get bitten in the process. As I followed the crowd to where the attack was, my friends Thalia and Reyna fell into step with me.
"Nico!!" Thalia whined, "We never talk anymore!!!!"
"That's because everyone thought you two were dating," Reyna spit the words like they tasted sour in her mouth. I rolled my eyes. Thalia was nice and all, but I liked my women like I liked my coffee. So not at all.
~~Time Skip Because I'm Lazy~~
I hesitate momentarily as I aimed my crossbow. I had to remind myself just what I was about to kill. A beast in human form who drinks the blood of living humans. I lifted my finger to the trigger. Then something strange happened. The human that the vampire was after, a tall, blond boy, took a defensive stance. His startling cerulean blue eye flash a deep crimson, the color of blood, and he plunged his hand right through the vampire chest with ease. The first beast crumpled to dust. I lowered my cross bow in confusion. Vampires fighting vampires?
