Chapter Twenty Five

It was over a year ago since Emma has last seen Regina Mills. She finished school and acted like any other student even though it was torture deep down inside. Both didn't really talk to each other a lot anymore after Regina sent her away this one afternoon, knowing it was the best for the both of them right now.Emma had high hopes that she would finally be able to be with the woman of her dreams when she was out of school but Regina was faster, she left on the first day of summer holidays for a project in Europe. Meanwhile Emma convinced her father to stop drinking and make a deprivation. He took back  his old job as sheriff before he made his daughter one of his deputies.

The blonde was waiting for her coffee at Granny's Diner as someone bumped into her suddenly. "Oh shit I'm so sorry,"
"It's okay it wasn't your fault I-" Emma's jaw dropped when she came face to face with the woman she had missed all these months. "Regina, Hi." They shared a brief hug and Emma couldn't hide her huge smile. "What are you doing here?"
"Back from Europe. I'm a boring teacher again." Regina started to grin as well now. Her eyes wandered all over the blonde's form. "Wow. You've changed a lot, dear."
"I'm deputy now. I need to workout daily or dad will kick my ass."
"Your father?"
"Yeah he's the sheriff again. Unbelievable right?" Emma chuckled. Her heart was beating in her chest like a drum and the feelings she tried burying all came back at once. "Your coffee, deputy." Granny handed her the coffee in a to-go cup. "Thanks!" Emma flashed the old woman a smile before she heard her phone ring. "That's Dad, I gotta go. I will see you again?"
"Of course, dear." The blonde nodded but hesitated before she made her way to the door. "Hey Gina!" She turned around again. Emma didn't need to make the mistake of losing the love of her life twice. "Would you like to go out sometime... maybe Friday?"
"I'd love to, Emma."
