NATHANIEL(NATE)= >FULL NAME- NATHANIEL BLACKWELL.
JAYDEN (JAY) = >FULL NAME- JAYDEN BLACKWELL
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clary walked towards the coffee shop with her hands in her jean pockets. She was thinking about the argument she had just had with Jace.It wasn't her fault that stubborn, ego-maniac Jace was her brother and it wasn't her fault that Jace thought she was just a little girl who couldn't take care of herself.
Clary's mind flashed back to how the fight had started. She had just returned with Jayden after fighting demons uptown. The demons weren't very powerful ones so it had been easy to dispatch them. It was fun until she returned to the institute just to find an angry Jace standing in the doorway.
" Where the hell were you ?" Jace asked not even trying to mask the anger in his voice.
"I was out with Jayden..what's wrong?" Clary replied confused why Jace was mad.
"You were killing demons weren't you?" Jace said not looking at Clary but at Jayden.
"Jeez man enough with the angry tone. What's wrong with Clary and I killing demons? She needed the practice anyway" Jayden said.
Jace took Clary's arm and pulled her towards the elevator and pressed the button. Clary could hear the elevator coming down.
"She isn't ready for outdoor practice yet" Jace said through gritted teeth. "You better start hoping and praying she's not hurt"
"Whatever man." he said to Jace " See you around Clary" Jayden said and disappeared behind the doors of the institute.
After that Jace had taken Clary to his room and had started checking her hands for any traces of demon poison.
" Jace what is your problem? " Clary said pulling her hands out of Jace's grip. " It wasn't as if I was killing demons alone.. Jay was there with me too"
"You could've got hurt" Jace said not looking at Clary but still at her hands as if he was still not sure that there wasn't any injury.
"Oh for the love of god I wasn't alone and you know that Jay won't let me get hurt" Clary said. She was annoyed with Jace's behaviour.
" I don't trust him Clary. You should've gone with me" the anger was back in Jace's voice.
" I can't go everywhere with you Jace. Get it into your head..I'm not your responsibility." Clary said matching Jace's tone.
" I don't care if you're not my responsibility I don't want you to get hurt and I'm having a hard time keeping track of where you go when you don't inform anyone" Jace shouted at Clary.
" So literally I can't have any privacy with you tracking me every where I go. I just don't know why you're making a big deal out of this. " Clary said shouted back.
"No Clary you just can't go places with every guy you THINK you can trust" Jace said. His hands were curled into fists.
" Why can't I ? Just give me one bloody reason why I can't go out to kill demons with a shadowhunter just like you." Clary asked pointing a finger at Jace.
"Because I don't like to see you with other---" Jace's eyes went wide then he dropped his gaze to his shoes.
"Jace what were you going to say? " Clary asked.
"Nothing" Jace said immediately. "It was nothing"
"It wasn't nothing Jace. What were you going to say?" Clary knew she was being annoying but she needed to know what he had been about to say.
"You're not an experienced shadowhunter Clary. You shouldn't be out killing demons when you are still at the level of dispatching dummies" Jace said. "When shadowhunters like you go out to kill demons you're not helping you're just bringing more trouble"
Clary's eyes went wide. She turned away from Jace. "Thank you for sharing how you feel about me being a shadowhunter." She said and opened his bedroom door.
" Dammit" Jace said to himself "Clary, I'm sorry that's not what I meant to say"
"No Jace, that's exactly what you meant to say. And if that's how you feel about me being a shadowhunter..I can just imagine what you feel about a loser who is still at the level of dispatching dummies being your sister" Clary said and closed the door behind her.
After that she had stormed out of the institute and now here she was walking on the road thinking about what Jace had said.
Clary was so distracted that she didn't notice her sensor buzzing until it started vibrating violently in her pocket. She scanned her surrounding and noticed that she had somehow passed the coffee shop and now she was standing in an alley which was next to a small warehouse. Her sensor was buzzing too hard that it hurt her leg, so she took it to her hand and checked it's screen. Whatever demon was inside that warehouse was sending off powerful demon energy. Clary knew that if she went in alone she was literally plunging to her own death. She took her phone out and started to type out a text to Jace but then thought twice about it and texted Nathaniel instead. The last thing she wanted to hear was Jace saying how inexperienced she was and how it was better for her to stay low until help arrived.
She waited for a reply from Nathaniel but none came. She was about to dial Nate's number when she heard a blood curling but very human scream coming from the warehouse. Clary didn't hesitate for a second, she grabbed and old metal pipe looking thing. Even though she had a seraph blade tucked into her jacket, she thought that two weapons were always better than one. She ran towards the front door of the warehouse, that probably wasn't the best way to enter but she highly doubted that she would see a demon torturing a human right at the entrance of the warehouse. She was reaching for the door handle when another scream came from the warehouse. Her sensor was vibrating really hard. She knew she wasn't a really good fighter but there had to be some result of those late night practices right? she thought. She reached for the door handle again and turned it. It didn't open straight away because the handle was rusted but it finally gave away.
"Alright here we go" Clary said to herself and went inside the warehouse.
