CHAPTER TWO

Aiden's Pov.

I began walking back after I slipped on my shirt that I left on the shore. It was 3:12 in the afternoon and Avery left the lake about an hour and a half ago. As I came to a very muddy spot, I saw something laying there. Did she drop her clothes? No. Wait...

"A-Avery?" I stuttered as I saw her laying on a few rocks. I walked over to her, gently nudging her. She began to move and sit up.

"Ugh I'm all muddy." She stated looking down at her clothes. I shook my head and chuckled as I got up to my feet. I put a hand out for her and she grabbed it and pulled herself to her feet.

"So lets head back to the treehouse. We have a lot to take care of." I stated as I glanced to the side to see her. I smirked as she visibly stiffened. We have a little game to play called Truth or Dare. Ahh I love traditions.*smiles evilly.*

"Wipe that smirk off your face or I'll do it for you." She snapped at me. I put my hands up in mock defense as she ran for the treehouse.

Avery's Pov.

I started sprinting towards the treehouse laughing. He's not gonna catch me n- I felt a large hand wrap itself tightly around my forearm, spinning me back around with my back against the tree.

"So close!" I sighed frustratedly. I puffed a small stream of air out of my mouth and looked up to meet his annoying stare.

"Oh Avery. My sweet, little Avery." He said in a menacing tone. I cowered away a little and felt the ladder behind me. I mentally high-fived myself as he walked closer and I gripped the ladder. He took one last step as I brought the latter around, hitting him in the stomach. He hunched over in pain and groaned.

"Oops, did I do that?" I said as i shot a sickly sweet smile his way.

"Dammit Avery." Uh-oh. He used my full name. That only happened when he was upset, worried or-

"Now I'm mad." See?! I told you! I began climbing the latter and made it to the top. I crawled away but not before he grabbed my ankle pulling me back down towards the latter.

If you were watching from a distance, it would look like a horror movie where the person gets drug away with their hands out trying to grasp the ground. Yah know? No...okay.

I dropped into the hole and fell to the ground. I waited for the pain but it never came so I slowly opened my eyes.

"Avery!" Came a low growl beneath me. I rolled over and found myself laying on top of Aiden. He was flushed red with anger that I'm hoping turns out to be a joke.

"Oh shit." I sighed as I realized he was still mad. I stood up and he jumped to his feet. I turned on my heel to run but he grabbed me before I could even take one step. Before I knew it, my world was upside down. Literally!

"PUT ME DOWN THIS INSTANT AIDEN!" I squealed as I found myself thrown over his shoulder. His shoulders shook and he laughed as he climbed the latter. I latched myself to his back in fear of hi dropping me. I mean come on! I don't want to be dropped on my head!

"D-don't drop me Aiden!" I stuttered out. He faked dropping me and I clung to his back but since I was still upside down I was really clinging onto his waist. I buried my face into his lower back and clutched his shirt.

"You might wanna open your eyes sunshine." He told me. I practically had to pry my eyes open to find myself standing on my own feet.

"Phew." I sighed as I pretended to wipe sweat from my forehead. I looked out and saw heavy snow start to fall.

"What? It's the first day of summer! Why is it snowing?" I asked frantically.

"Probably because its your birthday and you're much more special than other girls." He pondered.

"Aww thanks Boo Boo!" I said, using his nickname. "You mean I'm better than all the sluts you bang daily?" I smirked as I saw his genuine smile fall. Yeah Aiden was a player, but it came with the role of being the quarterback of our football team.

"Of course. You know they mean nothing, I'm just getting some experience for when I finally get the girl of my dreams." He told me.

"Aww Aiden has a little crush!" I said laughing.

"Ever since I was little!" He stated as I continued to laugh hysterically. My phone rang and I looked at the screen.

Kyle. My boyfriend.

"Oh it's Kyle." I stated to Aiden. He frowned slightly as he furrowed his eyebrows. "I'll make it quick." I promised. He nodded slightly as he looked up into the snowy sky and sighed. I walked inside and slid my phone out as I swiped it and answered it.

"Hey beautiful."

"Hey handsome."
