CHAPTER THREE
Avery's Pov.
"Hey beautiful."
"Hey handsome."
"How are you?" Kyle asked happily. I was extremely happy he called because he's one of those sweet boyfriends. Not an arrogant one and definitely not a player. He doesn't ask how I am just to make conversation, he actually cares about my answer and wants to know.
"I'm amazing! It's snowing!" I said cheerfully.
"Wow! That's great Av! Happy birthday! Tell me all about your day." He said. I chuckled and began telling him everything.
"...He carried me up the latter and when I opened my eyes it was snowing! On the first day of summer!" I ended my story of the day's events.
"Listen Avery." He started, sounding much more serious. "I know Aiden is your best friend, and he's my friend too, but I want you to keep a little distance from him." He said strictly.
"Is someone jealousssss?" I said smirking and chuckling into my phone.
"Only when my girlfriend is in a small area with a guy that fucking likes her." He growled.
"Haha what?! Aiden? Liking me? Oh my god that's just hilarious! You think that's true?" I laughed.
"I know it's true. He told me Avery! He's also a player and I don't want him doing anything to you!" He shouted somewhat quietly.
"I don't believe you! There's no way!" I yelled back. "Aiden doesn't like me!" I shouted. I heard a noise behind me so I whipped my head around to see Aiden running around the corner away from me. He was eavesdropping!
"You know what Avery? I don't trust him there with you. You're coming back home right now. Where are you? I'll come and get you. I don't want you to ever speak to him again." He said, anger clear in his voice.
"I'm not saying where I am. He's my best friend. If you aren't going to let me be with him, then we're through!" I shouted at my phone.
"Avery! No! Don't do this! Don't hang up! I'm coming to the treehouse in two days! Be ready because I'm taking you home! Please Aver-" I hung up. I turned on my heel and walked into my room silently.
"If he thinks he can show up out of nowhere and take me away he's wrong. If he thinks that he can tell me never to talk or go near Aiden again he's wrong. If he thinks Aiden likes me he's wrong." I ranted out loud as I paced my room.
I sighed and walled onto the balcony that's connected to my room. I sat on the edge letting my feet dangle off the side. I felt the light snow fall onto my head as I pushed a piece of hair behind my ear.
"What happened?" I heard a voice behind me. I crossed my arms gently.
"I broke up with K-Kyle." I muttered and dropped my head. Ugh I really don't want to cry.
"What?! Why? What did he do?!" He started questioning. I laughed lightly and shook my head as I recalled what he said.
"He told me never to talk to you again." I told him. I can't tell him about liking me. There's no point. Kyle just wanted a reason to keep me away from Aiden.
"You shouldn't have dumped him for me Av. I know how much you like him." He sat down next to me and crossed his legs.
"I wouldn't stay with anyone who wouldn't let me be with you. You make me happy Aiden." I told him honestly.
"You make me happy too Av. I just don't want you sacrificing anything for me." He stated. "Honestly it's about time you got a boyfriend again."
"Aiden why don't you have a girlfriend? Do you like it better sleeping with dumbass bimbos every night?" I snapped, suddenly angry.
"Woah woah. I never said tha-"
"Well you repeatedly do it so you must enjoy." I retorted.
"I just like one gir-"
"Then go for it! I'm sick of the one-night stands! I'm sick of seeing you with dumbass whores! I hate it because you're not like that!" I shouted, standing up. He jolted forward and sprang to his feet, grabbing my forearm in the process.
"You want me to go for it Avery?! Okay! By the end of this summer I'll have a girl!" He retorted.
"Wanna bet on that?!" I snapped back at him.
"Fifty dollars says I can get one!" He shouted.
"Fine!" I screamed.
"Fine!" He yelled back.
I whipped my arm out of his grasp and marched into my room and slammed the door and for good measure, I locked it.
This has been a horribly long and hard day. I just need sleep. That's all I need. Why am I trying to convince myself of this? How the hell should I know. I know it's working though. I collapsed onto my bed and was out like a light.
