Mitchells p.o.v
"Ready boys?" Larry asked.
Our luggage was on the boat, and everybody was loading, we were all outside the boat, Clay had promised he would send Larry math equations, to solve, then he would send them back.
"Thanks Larry, everything you did," I paused, licking my lips, "It meant so much," I smiled sadly, my throat tightening.
"It was all my pleasure," he smiled back at me, "Take care of him, you hear?" he put his hand on my shoulder leaning into my ear, "Be quite though, Clay will be in the house," he whispered.
And me cheeks flamed, "Uh... Um... Yah," I smiled shyly.
"Uncle!" Ben whined, "Your such a teaser," he stuck his tongue out.
"Ah, come here my boy," he opened his arms, and they shared a manly hug, Patting each others back, "Everything is set, you guys will get your information when you get there, her name is Tanisha, she will be standing with a sign, Bens number, ok? When you see her, walk up to her, then tell her your number," he pointed at me, "And she will give you everything you need," he finished explaining, and we nodded. "Well I dont know what you guys are waiting here for," he jerked his head toward the boat.
"Bye Larry!" Clay called, we grabbed hands, and walked on the boat.
"He bought us an apartment," Ben whispered in my ear.
"He what?" my mouth dropped open.
"Nothing, what did Priscilla give you?" he asked, and I took the envelope out of my pocket, forgot I had that.
"I dont know, and envelope," I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Well open it," he lightly smacked me in the back of the head.
"Fine, fine, grab his hand though," I put Clays hand in Bens, the boat started moving.
Slipping my hand into the creases of the envelope, I opened the top neatly, and pulled out a cheque.
"Ben," I gasped, gripping his shirt, I was speechless, he looked over to the thing I was holding in my hand.
"Holy shit," he cursed.
She gave us five hundred dollars, and were headed to America, I was told they double it. I looked over at Ben, I wanted to kiss him so bad. But I knew this isnt the time to do so.
"I can not wait," I huffed, putting the cheque securely in my pocket.
Were going to start a family, a life.
Together.
[~*~Two years later~*~]
"Ben! Mitchell! Wake up!" Clay whined, shaking me violently,
"Hmm?" I grunted, opening one eye,
"Hurry! Its school, I have to show the teacher my homework!" he yelled, running out of the room, his bedroom door slammed shut.
"Again?" Ben turned around.
I took in his appearance, the only thing that changed about him was his hair. The usually blond mixed with a brown, was now a dirty blond.
It brang out his eyes more as well.
As for me? Nothing changed.
Clay though, hes different all around, everything he does is on time, its like his life runs on a schedule, he finishes his homework as soon as he is home, we eat at six, he bathes at seven-thirty, is asleep at nine, and wakes up for school at like six.
"How does he do it," Ben sighed, throwing himself over me, smiling up at him, I press my lips to his, we quickly get into a heated make-out session.
"Mitchell!" Clay barged into the room... Again, "Whoops! Sorry" his cheeks flooded red, as he scrambled out the door, "Hurry up! I have to show my professor!" he yelled down the hall, sometimes I think...
"Come on Ben," I pat his chest, and sit up in the bed, covering up my lower half with the sheets, and dragging them with me. Ben... Who is laying comfortably naked, I throw some clothes at him, "Cover it up, Clay doesnt need to see that," I said mindlessly, picking out some clothes for me as well.
As we walked into the kitchen, Clay was eating cereal on one of the two couches we ha bought.
"Feet off the table," Ben moved his feet, putting his up were Clays used to be.
"Whatever," Clay mumbled, putting his legs on top of Bens, reviewing his math, and putting some more cereal into his mouth.
I have to say, they act so alike. Clay has gotten bigger, and no doubt has put on some muscle, but Ben still has him beat, and for me... Hes catching up. Hes fourteen, and has A's in everything including gym.
"Come on," I yelled, packing two lunches for Clay and I.
Clays dish was put in the sink and rinsed, I grabbed my bag and put the strap over my shoulder, Clay doing the same. All three of us walked down the sturdy steps to the bottom of the apartment. There was only two floors, making us--having to walk down stairs--on the second floor.
It wasnt in bad condition, it was actually renovated. The appliances were nice just like they were back at the Crescents.
"Bye Clay!" I called as he sprinted to his classrooms door, he waved back before disappearing into the room.
"Lets go," Ben slid his hand in mine. When we were around Clay, we didnt show that much affection towards each other, we want to raise Clay as a straight man, and show him how to treat a lady right.
But if he is gay, and is just not telling us, we obviously wouldnt have a problem. Well just... Show him how to treat--a younger, perhaps--man right also.
"Have a good day at work," Ben smiled kissing me on the lips quickly, I nodded,
"See you later," I gave him a hug before drifting in the doors of the little cafe.
I got paid minimum wage, we didnt really have to work, because when we moved, we found out, Bens mom had been saving a trust fund for Ben to have when he turns rightfully eighteen, which he has, but I want him to save it, or at least some of it, so when he sees something, that he wants. He doesnt have to debate on getting it or not for us to be in debt.
The apartment doesnt cost much, because we all help out around, vacuuming, wiping windows. The manager only makes us pay half of what rent actually is, so with the pay I get at work, we can pay that off, buy food, and put some into savings.
Ive also started a trust fund for Clay, he doesnt know about it, but it is just like Bens, when he turns rightfully eighteen, the money is his, to do as he pleases. Which I believe is to go to college.
So Im happy with my job, and glad I took it.
I have made some friends, like I had planned, but none of them are like the ones back with the Crescents.
Of course, we keep in touch, I wouldnt let us not.
I send some spare change down there, knowing that it will do them good. Even Priscilla writes to me sometimes, saying how she misses seeing my bright smile, she says I was like one of her own children, and it hurts her to not see me any more.
And I believe her, I miss her too.
It was all in time.... But, Im not a nobody.
