Trixie squinted closely at Eli. She slid off her mecha beast, eyes still trained on him.

He looked . . . a little better than usual.

They just recently stopped Locke and Lode from another attempt at robbery, and now they were finally home.

Home.

Before all this, she just rode on her mecha, not really knowing where to go. She often won  slug shooting competitions but after that, she didn't have any place to stay. Sure, she stayed a couple of nights at hotels with the gold she won, but it never felt like home. Slugterra was a place full of thieves and danger, the only goal she had was to survive.

And then came the fateful day where she met Eli. She didn't pay attention to him at first. Her initial thought was just an amateur that needed saving. She didn't think she would actually see him again. What were the odds of that? But she did.  And he gave her one of the greatest gifts she could possible imagine, something that gold could never replace. A home. And most of all, a  purpose in life: she would help him and the gang fight evil. This gift, this gift was fulfilling.

Trixie glanced at Eli once more. He laughed at something that Pronto said as he got off his mecha beast as well. His face was partially illuminated by the light from the sunset.  His cheekbones looking more defined, and his eyes a little brighter. A single thought entered Trixie's mind: pretty.

Oh my god. Trixie quickly looked down at the growing grass beneath her feet. She took another peek at Eli's face and her heart gave a squeeze. Trixie quickly cast her eyes down once more. ''What is happening to me'' she whispered.

She always admired her leader. He was caring, and understanding. He was reckless at times but calm when he needed to be.  But this, this was a whole new level of admiration.

Eli glanced over at Trixie from his mecha. Her face seemed a little red, and her eyes were trained on the grass she was standing on. She's probably worn out, she took a huge hit today from Lode.

''Hey Trixie"

Trixie looked up alarmed. Eli was walking towards her. You could see his muscles moving under his shirt. Was he always that ripped?

What to do, oh god what should I do.

"Are you okay? You seem a little red," Eli lightly touched her arm, eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"Um . . .yeah of course totally. I mean, like, why wouldn't I be fine? That would be completely ridiculous," she quickly said as she forced out a small laugh. Trixie mentally slapped herself. She felt heat spread to her neck now. What is wrong with you, you want him to think you've gone completely nuts? Trixie scolded  herself.

"Hey, I understand. We all get tired. How bout you get something to eat with the others? You haven't had anything to eat all day." His eyes were so full of concern as he looked down at her, she felt touched.

"They only thing I want to eat is you" Trixie murmured. She gasped and quickly covered her mouth. Oh. My. GOD. Someone kill me now

Eli's eyes widened, eyebrows raised slightly . He's got really nice eyebrows by the way. Trixie bit the inside of her cheek. Trixie, get your act together girl.

"Um. . .sorry? Can you say that again?'' Eli looked really confused now. It was an adorable expression really.

"Uh. . ." quick Trixie THINK!  " . . .I said the only thing I want to eat is moo. Yeah thats right moo. Cause you know, a cow. And I like beef."  So much for getting your act together, Trixie thought miserably.

The corner of Eli's mouth turned upwards. He studied Trixie closely. Her eyes were quite beautiful really, they were an amazing shade of forest green. And her hair was fire engine red. He never seen anyone like her back on the surface. Eli inwardly laughed, but then again he never seen someone like Pronto or Kord either.

Trixie averted her eyes from Eli's intense stare, and tried to focus on something. Anywhere but him.

The leaves rustled quietly as a breeze went by. Trixie rubbed her arms and suddenly realized that they were alone. Kord and Pronto went back inside the hideout. It was just Eli and her now. Her pulse quickened.

"Right, c'mon lets go back inside" Eli said after a while, and he started heading towards the door.

Trixie let loose a breath of relief as she walked behind Eli back to the hideout. Well, it can't get any worse than this.

Eli stopped suddenly before the door, slightly turning his face towards her. His smirk reappeared. " Who knows maybe you'll get a piece of me for dessert", and with that he disappeared inside.

Trixie stood there, her mouth slightly parted. Well fuck, she thought.
