All the new kids had to go to the gym to be able to know which classes they were going to be placed in. But shouldn't we get our schedule when we come to school instead of being picked where to go? It's strange, but I'll live with it if I have to. Now, the gym itself was pretty impressive since it is huge. "Where's the coach", someone whispered a few feet away from me asked their friend. "Why would I know", the friend replied. Noticing a mechanical noise below us, I tried to locate the sound to see what was happening to the floor.

In the middle of the gym, a man, which I think it was the gym coach, was slowly being raised in the air and was posed proudly into a superhero stance. The students walked towards the man cautiously knowing it's not good to threaten a guy in shorts. How do I know that? The fear level was rising. "Hello", he was a bit loud. Something told me I should plug my ears. "Who are you", someone asked politely. "I'm Coach Boomer", Coach said nearly yelling. "That doesn't make sense", the kid replied rudely. "Why doesn't it make sense", Coach asked. "You're quiet for your name", the kid sassily remarked. The kid made a huge mistake for then Coach took a breath and shouted, "HELLO, IM COACH BOOMER", he shouted loudly shaking the whole gym. Since the gym doesn't have a lot of things on the wall, echoes bounced around making the noise louder.

I covered my ears to stop the ringing in them. I knew it wasn't a good idea to let my ears uncovered. My eyes started to water because of shutting them so tight, sometimes having the hearing I have is a blessing and a curse. The kid that started the whole fiasco was shaking slightly and whimpering. He just had to provoke Coach. "Does that satisfy you", Coach asked quietly. The kid nodded his head so quickly that I thought it was going to fall off his neck. "Now, in order to get your schedule, you'll be placed in either Hero or Sidekick. So, you'll have to demonstrate your powers. Before we proceed with Power Placement, it's time to change into gym clothes." The Coach explained.

We were getting into gym clothes as I was thinking about where I would be placed. I can change into a wolf, so that could lead me into Hero. I don't have my powers yet so that could lead me into Sidekick. You maybe thinking that turning into a wolf is my power, but it's not. I know because my mom, Lady Whisper, or Vixen Thorn as her maiden name, showed me her powers two weeks before she left when I was three. I never knew when I would get my powers, maybe I'll never will. Anyways, everyone was done dressing into gym clothes and heading back towards the middle of the gymnasium.

We were going to be tested based on our powers as many people showed their skills. A guy was up as he spat on a banister. Coach was going to mark him as a Sidekick when the guy poked him to look at the wall. The wall was melting away where the guy had spat. "Super spit, impressive. Hero it is", Coach declared. A girl with pigtails came up and flipped into the air to then change into a rubber ball with a star on it. "Sidekick", Coach Boomer said while kicking the girl/ball away. The guy we saw on the bus, Larry was then up as he put his glasses away. Coach looked like he was going to mark Larry into Sidekick before Larry demonstrated his superpower. Larry had then turned into a big rock monster, type, thing. Coach then marked him into Hero.

Layla was then next to show her power. "Sir, I don't want to show my power since I don't think it is necessary. Is it okay to sit this one out", she asked nicely. "Well, if you don't want to show your power, you'll be in Sidekick then", Coach Boomer said as he marked Layla as Sidekick. Really? Who does that? Well, he does apparently. "What, how is that fair", Layla asked Will. "I doubt a High School is fair", Will replied. Next one up was Zach. Zach then clapped his hands and opened his arms wide. "What are you doing", Coach Boomer asked impatiently. "My power. I'm glowing", Zach declared proudly. Everyone looked confused as Coach marked him as Sidekick. Zach scent went cold as he walked down the steps glumly.

Ethan was next. He melted into an orange puddle as Coach ticked him as a Sidekick. I thought his power was pretty cool to be honest. Then the girl with black and purple went up to show her powers. Her name was Magenta I found out. She looked bored and out of place in the brightly colored clothes everyone was wearing. She turned into a purple and black guinea pig as Coach marked her as Sidekick as well. Isn't everyone just lucky to be here? Notice the sarcasm. Coach then pointed at me to come and demonstrate what I got. I was scared as Will and Layla looked at me, worried for my sake.
