Emalin woke in the middle of the night to Myerdden's mumbling. She made her way over and gently shook him.

"Myerdden... Myerdden... Wake up." It took a while but he eventually  woke up. Tears were falling down his face.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Emalin's voice was soft and full of concern.

"Not really." His voice was shy and fearful.

"You know it will help." He nodded. "I'm here if you need me." He nodded again, and she left to her bed.

"It was the first assassination." The timid voice slightly startled her, but she sat back down to listen.

"It was my first assassination. I was nervous about failure but didn't want to kill anyone. I found my target and followed him around for days." His voice began to waver and Emalin slowly began rubbing his back in calming circles.

"I didn't sleep and barely ate. But I eventually had to kill him. I had little trouble getting in but was almost caught by my target. I killed him and went back to Jonathan. That man was haunting my dreams. I couldn't escape. He kept questioning me, asking why? He chased me and wanted revenge. He looked like how I left him. His throat was slit and bubbling with blood, eyes wide with shock, fear, and rage. There was no escape." Myerdden was sobbing silently into his hands and Emalin pulled him into a hug. He tensed at the action and nearly drew away. Noticing how he tensed at her touch, she quickly realized "he must not have been shown any comfort after they found him." Jonathan would never have comforted and Egesa and Anchael would have have never been told or allowed. She squeezed him all the harder, letting to sob as long as he needed.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's stupid, being haunted about some stupid mission." Myerdden apologized for the display of emotion.

"It's okay, It's alright. It's not stupid. You don't have to apologize. I'm here for you." She suspected this was the first time he had let any emotions show in a long time. It would be good, but difficult, for him to learn to trust others again.

"There's not much of a chance of me getting back to sleep," his voice ringing in her mind.

"It's alright. There's only a few more hours before we should get ready." They spoke for a while before deciding to get ready for the day.

They decided it would be best for Myerdden to meet Loholt.

"Sire?" Caradan's voice brought King Loholt to the present. "We have someone you might want to meet."

"Who is it?" Loholt asked.

"This is Myerdden. He is an Egesa from Jonathan's land. He found out his true killer last night."

Brown eyes scrutinized Myerdden's strange form.

"He's mute and will use the mind link to communicate." Emalin mentioned that last part just as a heads up to the king.

"Hello, Myerdden." The voice caught Myerdden's attention.

"Hello, Sire." His voice was submissive and respectful.

"You wished to talk to me?"

"Yes, Sire."

"Then speak."

"I was an assasin from Qyrelt. I was sent to kill you. However, I learned of Jonathan's true nature last night and have decided to stop all plans of assassination. Anchael and Aedrnea are safe at Qyrelt. I will need to head back to Qyrelt to get them to you but If I return without you dead, I will be punished." Loholt sighed at this declaration, a plan already forming in his mind.

Loholt, Myerdden, and the second in command, Gahvi, arrived in a room with dozens of scrolls and papers littered across the table and floor, Loholt swept the papers to the floor uncovering a detailed map of Qyrelt, Draecheal, and the surrounding lands.

Myerdden was to practice a few spells before heading to Qyrelt. There, he would talk with Anchael and have him talk to the queen if he didn't believe Myerdden. Myerdden would then confront the king. He would most likely be punished or put into a cell, but that was a risk he knew he had to take. Meanwhile, Loholt would ready his troops with Gahvi and wait for the signal Myerdden would send when it was safe, if he was alone, or if he was about to die. Loholt would attack Qyrelt from the North, while Gahvi would lead troops around from the South. Myerdden would find a way out and help in the fight or make his way to the tent where Caradan and Emalin would meet him.

AN: Sorry for the rly long wait. I'm going to publish all the parts I have now. (I have it finished) mainly because I have another idea for a story that follows a similar story line, kinda, but I have more inspiration and much better planning done for it.
