Chapter 4- The Promise
Caden's Pov
She is so beautiful! How can this special girl be my mate? I don't deserve her, I let her die three times! She remembers all of the times seh died, but still loves me? I am going to try and be the man she deserves. I am going to always protect her, love her, and make her happy. That's all that matters.
"Caden?" She spoke softly.
"Mmm?"
"While I was uhh.. dead and then growing up what did you do? Where were you? Who were you wiht?" Her questions shocked me.
"I waited for you to come back. I got a ton of different degrees. I was in the United States, Europe, and Germany. I was with the vampire councle." I answered quickly.
"Where you with any uhh.. women?" She asked nervously.
"I was, but I didn't do anything exept kiss her. I was going to sleep with her but I couldn't."
"Did you see her naked? What do you mean you couldn't" Why is she thinking about this? She has never worried about things like this?
"I only saw her in her bra and underwear. I couldn't because I couldn't do that to you. I hated touching her, or anyone who is not you." I told honestly.
"Oh..." She spoke softly falling silent. I stopped the car and pulled her so she was faceing me. she is now straddling my waist.
"Whats's wrong?" I asked pulling her chin up so I could look into her eyes.
"Nothing." She said sharply. She looked down then.
"Why are you asking these questions? What brought them on?"
"I was just curious?" she tried to sound nonchalant but failed.
"Why were you curious baby?" She leaned forward and hid her face in my neck. She was silent for a while. I realized she is just being jealous. But why, she has never been worried about other women. She usually knows how I feel about her. "Baby, I love you. Always have always will. You have always been the one and only one. You don't have to worry about other women." I told her softly, my hand lightly traceing circles on her back trying to sooth her.
"Whey were you going to sleep with her?" Her voice was muffled by my neck.
" Because I wanted to take the pain away or at least forget about it for at least a little while."
"Was she pretty?" She asked shyly.
"Compared to you... not even close. There is not one person on this earth that is as pretty or prettier than you. You are the most beautiful girl I have ever met! When I met you any other females were just revolting to even look at. I am so sorry i did that. I know I should have just dealt with it, sucked it up and not even let her anywhere near me. I knew you would come back to me soon. I was just impatient. I wish I could go back and change it, But I can't. And I am sorry, I know thats not good enough but thats all I can say. Because I can't take it back, but I can promise you I will make it up to you. I am going to spend the rest of my exsistence making it up to you." When I began to speak she leaned back so that she could see my face.
"Caden it's fine. You don't have to make it up to me. I know you were upset. I know you are sorry. You didn't really even do anything anyways." Her hand laid lightlly on my cehst.
"I love you mi amor." I said, bringing my lipss to her soft ones. We broke apart for air. I began to kiss along her jaw and down her neck.
"I love you too." She whispered breathlessly. I pulled back and looked into her gorgeous gold eyes. She bit her bottom lip.
"You're so cute." I chuckled lightly. I peered at the clock seeing that it's nearly 4:20 AM. "We need to get you that daylight ring." She shifted in my lap so I could see to drive. I wrapped one of my arms around her waist and used the other to drive. We drove in silence. we arrived fiftneen minutes later.
Rose's Pov
This house was huge. Not as big as Caden's but still it was huge. He put the keys in his jacket pocket. Opening the door and pulling me out. I hadn't realized he had done it until I heard the door close. He chuckled at my shocked expression. I just rolled my eyes at him. He carried me to the door bridal style."I can walk on my own you know." I laughed as he knocked on the door.
"I know I just wanted to hold you." He said putting me on my feet. I smiled at him.
A young woman about mid-twenties opened the door. "Hello caden, What can I do for you?" She asked excitedly.
"My mate here needs a daylight ring." She didn't look surprised but she tried. Something was not right here. She took my hand and pulled me inside. She showeed me a bunch of rings.. Rings that looked like weeding rings...
"Pick one, anyone you would like." She chimed. Caden's arms wrapped around my waist. Kissing my neck as I looked at the rings I saw this one. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen....
"This one." I pointed to the one with a black/red diamond shapped in a heart sitting in the middle with a silver band with two little diamonds on the each side of the heart. It had a second band that was silver and had little diamonds going all the way around it.
The lady took the ring out of the display and handed it to Caden. He turned me around so that I was now faceing him. He got down on one knee and took my hand in his. " Rose Alucard, you are my reason of existance. You are my life, my world. My every thought, every dream consist of you. Without you I am nothing. You are my better half, You are the only person I have ever loved and will ever love. I promise you that I will always be by yourside in all your moods. I will be the reason of your smile and happiness. I will be there to make sure you don't rip everyone's head when your pissed. I will be there to hold you when you cry. I will hold your hair when your throwing up. I will make you chicken noodle soup when your sick. I will buy you tampons when your on your period. I will make sure you eat everyone of your unusual cravings when your on your period or pregnate. Will you in return of this make me the happiest man alive by being my wife?"
I could feel my lips curl up into the biggest smile, it hurt... it shocked me.. I knew what I wanted but I don't know if its a good thing.. I mean yeah I knew him before this but in honesty I have only known him in this life for what two days? And now here I am makeing the biggest decision of my life. But what should I do, do what my heart says or what my head says?
