Classes really hadn't been going well for me so far. I had arrived late due to the fact that I had got lost and when I tried to explain to the teacher what had happened he gave me a detention as he didn't believe me.

Biology wasn't so bad. I had been placed beside the head cheerleader of the squad so that did make me a little nervous, however, she told me she liked my shorts so I tried not to judge her and immediately pin her as a dumb blonde cheerleader who cared to much about looks and labels.

In case you had figured I am a very judgemental person who will jump to conclusions. It's my flaw and I can admit that... seeing as it is one of many.

I guess it was during art that I felt most comfortable. I was sitting up the back of the classroom beside a really lovely girl who's name was Riley. She started the conversation by explaining what I were to start doing in class.

Basically I had the next eight months to complete two folios, one which would be an expressive folio and the other would be a design folio. I was kind of excited about it as art is my thing and I couldn't wait to dive right in.

We talked about everything and I mean everything. From music to the new latest films to hot actors to careers and everything in between. Sad to admit, but it was the longest conversion I had had with a girl, besides my Mom. And I really enjoyed talking to her.

"So have you decided on a theme for your expressive folio yet?" Riley had long brown curly hair with chestnut highlights. Her stunning looks and genuine personality made me feel confident around her. I don't know what it was exactly but I felt I could really be myself around her. "Most people go for tropical flowers or candy cause it's quite good for shape and colour."

I hadn't thought of a theme yet. I wanted it to be something diffrent and unique. Something nobody had done before. "And the examiners hate thoose themes cause they're so overdone... so I would advise not doing them."

"What are you doing? " I asked. She seemed like an individual person who would act as the shepherd instead of the sheep.

"I'm doing Africa." She told me excitedly. "I went to South Africa last summer and when I came back I knew I had to pick that as my theme. The country is amazing and it was like the best four weeks of my life."

"Wow! Experience of a lifetime right?" I asked before thinking. Of course going to South Africa is going to be the experience of a lifetime. I mentally face palmed myself for asking such a ridiculous question. However she didn't notice just how stupid I must have sounded.

"Yeah... It was amazing!" The bell rang signaling that it was now lunchtime; which was something I has been dreading ever since I placed my left foor on school ground.

Matty was right when he said girla wore high heels to school. I was never aware of it back home however it was the first thing I noticed when I walked through the doors. That and the fact that every girl... and I mean every girl... was wearing a dress; whereas I was in shorts, t-shirt and sandals.

I mean talk about sticking out like a sore thumb. "Do ya wanna sit with me and my friends for lunch?" Riley asked me pulling me back into reality. I couldn't explain how happy I suddenly became when she asked me to sit with her. Like for real- I was wanted at a lunch table. Yay for me!
