After she had cleaned up any indications of her being there-as well as collecting a momenta proving she had accomplished her mission-she walked around the side of the household and uncovered her motorbike. It was custom made for her, a chilling midnight blue metal covered the outside, scarlet handles, and it was marked with the symbol of her organisation; a dagger stabbing through the heart of a cloak. She smiled at the dark machinery and ran her fingers along the leather seat. No matter how long she had owned this, it brought a malicious smile to her face. She sat on the seat of the bike and drove into the silent night.

If anyone else had been in her shoes the eerie silence after a killing would have been off putting. The need to look over one's shoulder for any followers would have been a natural response. But she wasn't like that anymore, after being in this line of business for a long period of time she had become immune to the silence and what it promised her.

As she drove past the scurrying night walkers, and passed the car with the usual drunk teenagers, she wondered what her next assignment would be. For the last week all of the assassins had been receiving jobs non-stop. It was exhausting, but there was just a certain something, am exhilarating feeling that had no equal.

She drove. Further and further into the night, until she reached it. The building before her looked to be an apartment complex. With red aging walls, graffiti left behind by imbeciles, and stained broken windows, no one would want to live inside here. It was not the most ideal cover but it did keep anyone else away from their business.

When she stepped in, the horrendous building melted away. Now before her there stood a clean "glass" building. Headquarters. Her shoes squeaked and rubbed against the marble floor as all eyes landed on her.

Many of those keeping up the illusion of the apartment complex were still baffled by her career choice. To see someone such as her in this place...
It was a rare sight indeed.

But by her looks, the black coat flaring out behind her, the line pressed lips, the constant threat in her eyes, one would be too afraid to voice their opinions when she floated past them.

The assassin's mind remained empty as she mechanically walked to the open arms of the elevator and pressed the button to transport her to her world. The world void of emotion. It was marvelous for anyone who understood their purpose. When the portal slipped open, she was met with his familiar face. Chocolate brown curled locks, stormy grey eyes, and his grey-balled piercing quirked up with his eyebrows. The only person she knew since she had begun working for this organisation.

He'd been gone on a week long scope out mission. Something involving human trafficking and how certain demons paid a pretty penny for the best humans at the Hellhole market. It was pleasing to see him returned unscathed-and hopefully successful in his mission-but it also annoying because she hadn't time to waste. Her watch was beeping, indicating that the director knew of her return and sought her.

"Pleasant evening, Four."
His name amongst the high rankers rolled off her tongue as naturally as the wind blew. Years ago she couldn't utter the name without relating it to childish books and movies. It showed how much she'd grown here in the organisation.

"To you as well, Five."

Five.

The name she'd taken as her own not to long ago. The name she was referred to. The name that made many low rankers shrivel and weep. She nodded her head in acknowledgment and moved to his right. He followed behind her. There was more chatter amongst the informants seated at white desks and typing furiously away at the blue screens floating before them.

Five stopped at the desk just before the next set of doors and turned to the strawberry-haired teen behind the transparent floating screen. "Cerena."
The screen instantly vanished as the girl's attention was on the high ranker before her. Cerena was Five's intelligence and assistant. Any information she needed or wanted, the strawberry lass had it before anyone else did. She was the best in the IT department and she should have been assigned to One. Instead she'd been assigned to Five the moment she'd advanced past her classmates.
