The room was white, as simple and elegant as the rest of the building, but it was designed differently. Eleven pillars were overlooking a circle, with the organisation's symbol carved into the ivory stone. These pillars were made to be a chair for a number. They sat in descending order with the director always sitting at the head and next to him was One. Though One usually never attended any of the meetings held by the Numbers, there was only ever one pillar-chair open.

Today, Two's eyes wandered to the three open pillar-chairs. Her neon orange hair was tied in a tight ponytail with a bit of hair covering her left eye. Five was in a meeting with the director, and so far bickering was all that the Numbers were interested in. Their meeting couldn't be started until the director had taken his seat. Until then they talked amongst themselves.

Three and Four were so deep in their conversation that they didn't notice the newest number looking at them. The hulking Ten sat on the lowest pillar, with his platinum shoulder length hair touching his nose. He'd been in the middle of taking a shower when this meeting had been called, and being a Number he wasn't permitted to ignore the call. His jaw tightened as he looked over to the Fourth and Third numbers. So...odd.

The seventh number fiddled with his newest weapon; testing it's sharpness against his electric blue hair. So impatient, Two thought to herself, getting so frustrated. She knew the meeting would be withheld if the Director did not appear soon. At his mention, Five's heels clicked against the snow white floor with the Director following behind her.

Standing next to her he didn't look his age. Being the director he kept his body in a top physical condition, his salt and pepper hair was the only clear indication he was aging, and his eyes, those powerful orbs, scanned the room at such a rapid pace and with such authority, one would be forgiven for mistaking him for someone in his prime.

"Thank you all for waiting patiently. The meeting can go on as planned." The director went around the pillar, and up the staircase leading around his pillar. Five stood silently on the symbol until the director was seated. Sensing all eyes on her, the fifth number took to her seat and sat as silent and stoic as ever.

Two pressed the button along her pillar for the hologram and presentation to appear from the ground. The images hovered directly in front of all the numbers-and a few grunts were given to the images before them-the second number cleared her throat, she wanted to be done with her presentation.

"As we all know, the C&D was established to protect humans and supernaturals. Through the centuries we've been doing just that. We've stopped countless would be wars, freed thousands, and assassinated those who seek to mould the world into their image. Though," the hologram flickered to enlargen the desired image. Exactly ten bodies lay in a bloody heap, the bodies skewered atop a skyscraper and positioned to look directly onto the cameras. "These are a few lackeys."

The sixth number stuck up his hand, and without waiting for acknowledgement, went forth with his question, "Are they from our organisation?"

Two looked annoyed at the interruption, but responded politely,"Not this time. But it is still something to worry about. Florida,Mexico, New York, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro," the images flickered and changed, each one more bloody, brutal, and more open to the public than the last. "In all of these places, lackeys from numerous organisations have been left in bloody piles in public eye. No one knows why, and due to lack of security cameras, no one knows who."

The delicate number Nine pointed to the moniter, "Wait! That last image," the monitor went back to an image in Egypt. "Ten and I were there a week ago, there was an underground drug trade happening beneath the pyramids. When was this image taken."

"In this week..." Nine's eyes strayed away from the monitor, it was taken in this week, therefore it couldn't have any connection to their being there. Though it was obvious there was some connection somewhere. These sorts of things didn't happen all the time, not in this time gap and certainly not to these organisations.
