After the game, Toni said goodbye to Luna, telling her that she was going to visit a 'friend'. Luna had her suspicions but left it alone because she thought Toni needed to get out more.

Toni felt uneasy about going to Wilmington now. She wanted to go because she'd miss Darren but after what happened yesterday, she wasn't sure. She still told him she'd go and now walking to his car to meet him was too late. It was cold. Beyond cold, walking in her cheer uniform with only her warm-up pants on top of her skirt. She quickly paced to the parking lot with her duffle bag slung over her shoulder.

She leaned against his car and brought out her phone, seeing he wasn't there yet. She had to put on her glasses before she scrolled through her Instagram but didn't find any interest in it, then decided to play some solitaire game that she's perfected over a dozen times. She looked up, searching for him but still could not see him. Her eyes were trained on the gym where the players began to come out but none of them were Darren.

Her phone rang, '23' by Miley Cyrus flying into her ears. She pulled it out of her sweat pockets and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Toni."

"Oh, hey Nic, what's up?"

"I need your help."

"No beating around the bush," she laughed.

"Seriously!"

Toni took a deep breath, "Okay, I'm done. What do you need help with?"

"As you now know, I'm gay..."

Toni found herself smiling. She kissed a girl and... liked it. Katy Perry was influencing her more ways than one. "Yes..."

"Anyway, I need you to find me a girlfriend!"

"Why can't you find one on your own."

"You know what would happen if I announced I was gay? They'd probably vote me off of the team because I'd make them uncomfortable."

"Not true."

"Yes, it is! I just don't want to be looked at differently."

"You will...but just by girls who are also gay," Toni laughed. "Anyway, so you want me to say I'm gay so you can find someone?"

"No, I mean...look around for a girl and if she is then talk to her about me."

"You're lucky you're my friend" Toni sighed.

"And your first girl kiss!"

She laughed, "True. Okay I'll help you when the ne-" Toni stopped herself when she finally saw Darren walk out of the gym but with a cheer mate, Dana, behind him. They were holding hands and she was obviously flirting with him. He laughed at something she said and pulled her into him. She smiled up at him and leaned up, kissing him deeply.

Toni's mouth nearly dropped.

Manwhore she thought.

When they pulled apart he smirked at her and whispered something in her ear. Toni pinched her lips together when she saw them exchange numbers.

"Toni?" she heard through the phone. "S-sorry. Um, yeah let's start Monday, kay?" "Perfect." "I gotta go. I-I'll see you later." "Bye."

Toni hung up and stuffed her phone back in its pocket, feeling suddenly upset.

She couldn't believe him. Of course he'd do that...of course.

Don't beat yourself about it she remembered the words Luna told her.

She put on a brave face and focused on her phone, playing her solitaire. Perfect for her mood.

"Oh, you're already here," she heard Darrens voice in front of her as she heard the door unlock. "Yup," she popped and got into the passenger seat, throwing her bag in the backseat. Darren walked around the car and got into the drivers seat. He turned on the car and drove out of the gym's parking lot.
