Jasmine woke up and started to stretch to wake herself up more. Then she heard and knock at the door.
"May I come in, mistress?" Said Jasmine's head attendant and closest friend.
"Yes, please do Abigail." Jasmine said re-positioning herself to seem more proper than she was. Abigail walked in and placed a tray on Jasmine's lap. The tray contained eggs, bacon, waffles, and a buttered piece of toast. Along side it was a tall glass of pineapple juice. That was Jasmine's favorite.
"You know Brunden called again this morning, and asked if you would like to join him for tea later. He also said he had something very important to discuss with you, but he didn't elaborate more than that." Abigail said as she opened up the windows to let the cool morning breeze fill the room with the scent of freshly blooming roses.
"Ugh, why did it have to be today, I wanted to go check out that pirate ship that pulled into the dock the other day!" Jasmine whined. That wasn't the real reason that she wanted to go. It had been said that the local pirate crew had a new leader and by the way girls were talking about him, it sounded like he was quite handsome. But in all that talk she hadn't caught his name, but she didn't mind much what his name was but more what he looked like.
After finishing breakfast and showering Jasmine was putting on her new pink blouse and cute mini skirt that she had bought the day before when she heard the announcement system turn on.
"Jasmine, darling, please report immediately to my office. I have some very important news to share with you!" It was her father, which was unusual considering he always has a servant call her to his office, but she went anyways.
As she walked down the empty corridor a thought crossed her mind. Could this have anything to do with Brunden's important news? She knock on the double doors of her father's study and walked in. Inside stood her father and her mother. And along side them stood Brunden.
"Mother, father you summoned me?" Jasmine said as she walked toward the desk sitting in the back of the large room.
"Yes, Brundun here has a preposition to ask you." Her father said almost jumping out of his boots with joy.
"Jasmine Heartfeelia, I have wanted to ask you this for a while now," Brundun walked closer to her, got down on one knee and pulled out a small velvet box, "Your looks have astounded me ever since we first met. Will you do me the honor of becoming my bride?" He said his blue eyes filled to the brim with hope and happiness. He opened the box to reveal an astounding golden ring, dripping with diamonds and jewels.
"I, um, don't know what to say." Jasmine stuttered.
"Then say you will be mine forever. Or is there somebody else?" Brundun said standing up, a hint of menace in his voice. He towered over her by at least a foot. Jasmine looked back and forth between her mother, her father, and Brundun.
"Um, I...I can't!" She shouted as she turned around and ran out of the mansion. She purposely ignored the shouts of protest as she left the estate she called home.
She didn't stop running until she was nearing the dock. She stood and marveled at what she saw sitting in the waves basking in its own battle glory. It was magnificent, even for a pirate ship. Lined with at least ten cannons on each side, and stacks of cannonballs by each one, it looked prepared to sink even the best of Queen Taylor's ships. But it looked empty. That must mean that the pirates were out in the open market. Jasmine ran to main square where she started to look around for any sign of pirate life. That's when she saw them. Strutting down the street were 5 pirates. Jasmine recognized all but one of them. She saw Mary Read, Anne Bonny, And Madame Ching. They were being followed by their first mate, Jacey, and all 4 of them were caring shopping bags stuffed to the brim with food in one hand and their swords in the other. The person that Jasmine didn't recognize was a tall, muscular, and handsome man. He had a black and brown beard, and was carrying twice as much as the girls were. He was also much taller than Jasmine was (By at least 3 inches). His eyes were a deep shade of purple, sparkling with mischief and maybe something more. They were so intense and focused. She had never seen such eyes in her life. Jasmine had been marveling at them so long that she failed to notice that she had been standing directly in their path.
"Out of me way landlubber or I'll skewer your liver and put it in a jar!" Shouted the man in a deep burly voice. But his voice was laced with uncertainty, like he didn't want to yell at a lady. Jasmine knew that voice anywhere. The mysterious man was Blackbeard. He was rumored to have a first name, but that was just a rumor.
"Jasmine! Jasmine!" Jasmine was snapped back to reality when she heard her name being called. "Jasmine, thank goodness I found you. Your parents and Brundun are so worried after you ran out like that!" Jasmine was relieved to find that it was Abigail.
"I'm not going back." Jasmine said staring at the backs of the pirates as they sauntered back to their ship. "I would rather die than marry that flab mountain. But how am I supposed to tell my parents and Brundun that? It would break his heart, and he'd break my neck!" Jasmine said worried and confused at what to do. Making a quick decision, she grabbed Abigail's arm. They bolted to the docks, and quickly grabbed two sailor uniforms from a clothes line. While the pirate's backs were turned, they quickly slipped into a cleaning supplies room. About thirty minutes later, they felt the boat take off, leading to a new life of adventure.
