The News

Hey everyone!! So i've been doing cheer this year and I was gonna start writing a new book but then cheer pretty much took over my life which sorta sucks, but it ends in March so I'll get my life back. Anyway I'm going to try my hardest to write this book and I really want it to be good so please feel free to correct any spelling errors or any grammatical errors. Hope you enjoy!!

"They're dead Audriana." My grandma said.

I couldn't move or speak. All I knew was that I was gonna be alone for the rest of my life. No mom. No dad. No one to walk me down the aisle when I get married. No one to wake me up in the morning for school. I was all alone. I just looked at my grandma bawling my eyes out.

"Before they died," my grandma started "Th-they told me that if anything ever happened to them that you would live with your mom's good friend Veronica."

I've heard about Veronica from my mom a few times and I've only met her once when I was young. My mom and I went on a vacation to Florida to go to Disney World and we met up with Veronica.

"S-so you're saying you're making me move all the way to Florida?!" was the only thing I could say. I saw the hurt on my grandma's face as I yelled at her, but I didn't care at the moment. I'm still so shocked about my parents and now I have to move from California to Florida. I'll be leaving behind my school, my friends, the house I grew up in.

"Why can't I move in with you grandma?" I asked.

"Your grandpa and I just can't afford to take care of you Audriana."

"I can get a job, two jobs even! I'll help pay rent. Please don't make me move." I begged.

"Audriana sweety. Your grandpa and I are just too old to watch after that. Your grandpa is going senile already. He's forgetting things and I have to keep a close eye on him already. Please just go home and pack your bags. You're flying out to Florida tomorrow morning." My grandma said.

I knew that no matter how much I begged there was no way that I was going to be able to stay here in California. I went upstairs with tears in my eyes and went into my room and started packing. Tomorrow I was going to start my new life in sunny Florida.

The next morning I woke up with a big headache and tear stains on my pillow and my face. I grabbed my phone to check what time it was. It was 7:55. My plane left at 11:30 and I need to be at the airport at 9:30. I got out of my bed and into the shower. About 15 minutes later I was out of the shower and was dressed in the outfit I choose last night (a random hoodie from Brandy and some comfy leggings from Pink). I finished packing the rest of my things. I put on a quick layer of mascara and called my grandma to pick me up.

By the time my grandma got me it was 8:30 and the airport was a good 45 minutes away which gave me some time to grab breakfast from the Starbucks at the airport.

When we got to the airport my grandma helped me grab my suitcases. We hugged for a long time and it felt good to hug her and cry. I knew I wasn't going to see her for a long time.

As I walked into the airport it was very busy. I checked in and got my suitcases checked as well. Next I went to find my gate. There were a few people there so I put my my carry on bag on a seat and went to the Starbucks that was a few feet away.

After I got my Starbucks I had less than an hour before the plane boarded so I decided to look at pictures of my mom and dad. When I looked at the pictures I tried my very hardest not to cry, but I started sobbing and everyone started to look at me but I didn't care. The reality that they were gone still hasn't fully hit me. I'm still just in the shocked stage. I mean they were both so young. My mom was only 35 and my dad was 40.

"Attention all passengers of flight B32 to Orlando, Florida your plane is now boarding. Please make your way to the gate." The flight attendant said.

I grabbed my carry on and phone and stood in line. When it was my turn to get on tears started rolling down my face.

"This is really happening," I said "I'm leaving my hometown to live with my new family."
