Love is like Football

Connor Pov

I'm so glad school is out for a week, this gives me time to relax, game and finally tell Ashley that I like her. I have a plan I think I'm going to ask her to Mondale high's first spring football game of the season, fortunately it's an away game that's near the mall so we can hang out afterwards.

There she was sitting with someone who is familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

"So are you going to introduce me to your friend." The girl said as I approached to the table.

"Hey, Connor... this is Skylar." Ashley said looking me in the eyes.

A nervous sweat went through my body as if it were planned. I had totally lost my cool.

"Skylar can we have a minute? I need to talk to Ashley in private." Ashley said as she walked away.

"Do realize who that is, Ashley that's Paris Berelc!" I slightly yelled excitedly.

"But why is she here in Mondale? We've got to hang out after all is she is a Disney Star!" Ashley concluded.

Just great, a celebrity just ruined my date with Ashley.

"Since she probably won't be here long, we should take her to the Mondale spring game." I suggested as I cried on the inside.

"Sounds good to me." Paris said peering over the wall. Then she cartwheeled her way to us.

And with that Friday night rolled around and I got ready for my third wheel date with Ashley :/

I was in Ashley house in her parlor waiting for her to get ready with Paris. Then Paris came down in sweats and sat near me on the couch.

"Connor I know, that you like Ashley." Paris whispered.

"Yeah right... ok fine it's true." I said embarrassed.

"During the football game I'll duck in the fourth quarter and you can confess to Ashley." Paris suggested.

... We got to the game, with my swag driving skills and my sweet GPS.

"4th quarter the Roosters down by 3 for a score of 20-23 turnover to the roosters." the announcer said through the speakers.

The punter punted the field down the field being received by our best player Tom Ridgely he took a knee to start at the 30 yard line. It was the opening drive we had to make some serious catches considering we weren't that good with out running game.

"I'm going to use the bathroom. Be right back guys." Paris said signaling me to tell Ashley.

The roosters made a long catch to put them at the opposite 40 yard line, but then Tom was tackled out of the field and onto the hard stone pavement. The paramedic brought Tom off the field. We had no subs, I thought to myself Game on!

I walked onto the feild and ran up to coach.

"Kid, were out of subs and your our best option so get in there!"Coach handed me gear and a Jersey.

We huddled.

"Connor I swear don't screw this up." A player yelled at me.

"Guys no one would expect me so throw to me for the touchdown pass." I offered.

"Guys make sure he's open at all times for the pass." The QB said.

"All right game on!" I shouted breaking the huddle.

We were set up on the field and a player dragged me in my position.

"Blue, Blue, Forty-Two." The QB said snapping the ball.

I caught ball with my eyes closed, i ran up the feild and two rocket team members rushed towards me.

I spun around them I was on the 20 yard line, then I really started sprinting. 0:37 left on the clock millions of thoughts rolled through my head.

The whole team started chasing me I'm so scared. One of them jumped at me.

"10, 5, 2, TOUCHDOWN!" Coach shouted.

I front flipped into the end zone to win the game.

"I landed on my ass but touchdown!" I said doing my touchdown dance.

"IS CONNOR NAE NAEING!" The announcer shouted.

The whole team surrounded me with joy.

They carried me to coach.

Then Ashley and Paris sprinted onto the field.

"You did it Connor, amazing game." Paris said congratulating me. She then kissed me on the cheek.

"Ashley I have to tell you something." I said nervously.

"I like you a lot, and will you be my girlfriend?" I asked nervously

"Hell yes Connor I will because I like you two." She said right before it started to downpour.

Paris handed me a black umbrella. Ashley and I shared our first kiss as a couple. It was magical like this game. I put the umbrella under us and we left the stadium with Paris.
