As I woke up, a buzzing pain greeted me inside my head. My throat was dry and felt like sandpaper.
I felt water droplets on my face, and I opened my mouth, while still keeping my eyes closed. The water hit the back of my throat occasionally, as if as soon as I was about to finish with the nonsense it would tease me back into trying.
I felt a yank on my arm, and I hissed, opening my eyes.
A girl, about my age, was trying to drag me somewhere. Once she noticed my displeasure, her eyes snapped to me.
"W-where are you taking me..?" My voice sounded gravelly and distant, and honestly, I was not surprised.
The girl looked around twice, as if to make sure I was talking to her, and quickly responded.
"Cave." She awkwardly looked to the ground, strands of her hair falling over her face. It gave me a view of the bandages on the top of her head, and I froze on the spot.
"A-are you okay..? I mean, there are.." I let my voice taper off and touched the top of my head. It took a couple seconds, but she responded.
"Fine." The atmosphere was incredibly awkward with all of these one-word sentences. I sat up, and slowly got to my feet. My ribs felt slightly bruised, but they were nevertheless better than before. My head was filled with a dull pain, throbbing at my temples, but I chose to ignore it.
A sudden confusion flooded my brain, and I looked up sharply. Water was still falling from the sky, which was one of the craziest things I have seen. And, wasn't the sky... pink... when it was light..? I tried to recall other details, but as soon as I felt them nearly in my grasp, they slithered away. I scrunched my eyes in concentration, and my hands grasped something around my neck. Conjuring up nothing, I stared blankly at the girl in front of me, who was waiting patiently with her hands held behind her. I got up off of the ground and nodded. She walked away, and I assumed I was to follow.
We walked for around twenty minutes before we arrived at the cave. It smelled like rock, and I could make out a scent of a small animal around twenty feet underground. I caught a familiar scent, a strong one, the smell of the girl next to me. She smelled of antlers and blood, and some weird substance I could not make out. There were other unfamiliar smells, and I chose to learn what they were until the girl decides to talk.
This is some planet.
Scents are everywhere, it was amazingly fascinating. I eventually learned each one, but I still had no names to them. I would have to figure that out.
Millions of other questions buzzed around like annoying flies, but my tongue only decided to kill a couple.
"Where are we?" I asked, the only sound inside the cave was the faint scurrying of paws and my voice, echoing around the cave walls.
The girl's stunning blue eyes sparked with interest.
"Earth..." She trailed off, and I waited, expecting more.
"It's an inhabited planet, and... uhm... you probably already knew this. I mean, you l-live here.... A-anyway... I don't know exactly where, but I saw a town on the way," She shivered once, and I then noticed the freezing cold atmosphere wrapped around my bare arms. The girl wrapped her arms around herself, rubbing her forearms. She still shook, nevertheless. It was easier for me to cope with the cold, I seemed to be adapted to it. I sat next to her, much closer, and she seemed to relax a more. I then leaned so we were just barely touching.
"You're... so warm..." she sighed happily, and a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
"Nova..." she murmured, "that's my name..." I nodded, understanding.
"I'm Elara." I stated, changing my position so I was laying against her back. In a couple minutes, she settled in comfortably, and waited. I let my eyes flutter close, and I drifted off into the darkness of the abyss. It hurts, so much. A voice so familiar, but one I have never heard inside my head let out a strangled whisper. I tried to reach out, but something cold and solid met with my hand, blocking me.
A wolf, crouched on the ground in a ball. Her claws were torn, her fur wet from sweat. Her eyes, a beautiful aqua blue with chestnut fur, stared into mine, bloodshot and red. Shackles bolted her to the ground, some metal that burned off her fur at contact. It smelled like flesh and blood, with a hint of an earth plant. The smell of my wolf.
'Arianna, I will save you' I sent the link to my beautiful she-wolf, who howled in sorrow. I placed one hand on the wall again, and let a tear slide off of my cheek.Well, I'm done now. Elara's POV, done. Get ready for more drama, my readers.
