I'm standing against the gym wall, watching everyone run around after a ball. I put my hands in my pocket and start fiddling with a ring I have in it. A peice of hair falls into my face so I try to blow it off. It stays put. I ignore it and sigh, thinking about how bored I am. Next thing I know I feel fingers brush against my face and behind my ear. I gasp slightly, startled.

"You had some hair in your face."

"Oh. Thanks." It was this guy I had a crush on, Riley was his name. I felt my cheeks heat up and quickly sucked in a breath and forced them to cool down.

"Can I talk to you for a sec?" he asks, facing me. I, as usual, can't meet his eyes.

"Sure. What about?"

"Not here."

"Ok, where then?"

"You can sneak by teachers, right?"

"Oh, what a great reputation I have. Yeah. I can sneak by them."

"Ok. We'll go outside and talk about it. It's the only private area in the school right now."

"Fine. I'll go first."

"Ok."

I pushed myself off of the wall with my leg. I could feel his eyes watching me as I silently made my way across the gym, ever so swiftly. I walked right out of the door, and not one teacher even glanced at me. I waited for him in the hall. I saw him ask the teacher and snickered. He came out of the door and I stopped laughing.

"How do you do that?"

"Do what?"

"Walk by the teachers without them noticing."

"I don't know. I just do. So, are we going or not?"

"Yeah."

I walked out of the door, still not making a sound, and onto the pavement, which was covered by a thin layer of snow.

"Ok, we're outside, now what do you want to tell me?"

"This isn't private enough. A teacher could look out a window and see us. Follow me."

I sighed and followed him. He led me to the other side of the building where there were no windows. I was seriously curious about what he needed to tell me. I propped myself against the wall.

"Private enough?" I ask.

"Should be," he answers and stands right in front of me. I look down so I'm staring at his shoes. I can't meet people's eyes easily.

"Ok, so what's so important that you have to drag me out here to tell me?" I asked his shoes.

"Well, I've been meaning to tell you something."

"Then tell me."

"Well... I... Uh... I've been wanting to ask you for a while now..." He was stuttering terribly.

"Then ask me," I said, and looked up, catching his eyes. The were filled to the brim with eagerness, a desire, and longing. I didn't understand what these meant.

"I wanted to know if... Would you like... Would you consider..." He was starting to irritate me.

"Get on with it," I said.

It was then that a saw a flash of pleasure and happiness in his eyes. Then he did something I never expected him to do. He leaned in closer, his hands against the wall, locking me between his arms, body and the wall. He came even closer. Then he was so close that our lips were practically touching. They were... He was kissing me! Once I realized that I felt my eyes widen and the hair on the back of my neck stand up. He slipped his hands around my waist and pulled me closer to him, our bodies touching. He pulled me even closer, wrapping his arms around my back, meanwhile deepening the kiss. I began to feel dizzy and realized that I hadn't breathed, so I sucked in air through my nose. I wasn't kissing back. I didn't know how. I felt my cheeks flush. His cheeks were flushed as well. He was so gentle, yet so playful. His lips were so soft against mine. He seperated from me and breathed in through his mouth.

"Your cheeks are bright pink," he said.

"Yeah, so are yours."

"You didn't kiss me back." He asked it almost like a question.

"I have two reasons. One, I don't know how, two, I was in shock." I was still pressed against his body, and he was toying with my hair.

"You know, you shouldn't have cut your hair."

"It'll grow back."

"It's so soft. Softer then I ever imagined it."

"Uh... Thanks?"

He tilted my head up so I was looking at him. Then he smiled. I was prepared this time. He pulled me close and pressed his lips against mine, slower this time. I half-kissed back, and he smiled. We stayed like this for about thirty seconds, then we seperated.

"Well... That was a good talk," I said, then patted him on the shoulder. "See ya." I turned to go but he held tighter.

"Please, don't leave me without an answer," he pleaded.

I looked straight into his eyes and gave my answer,"Yes," then turned and walked away again. I was never the one to give dramatic answers.

(Riley's P.O.V.)
My body was shaking with adrenaline.

I had been scared at first, knowing that she had a tendency to hit when startled, but now...

Now I knew a whole other side of her. I side that no one else knew, and I am intending on keeping it that way.

That moment was pure bliss, and I'm sure we'll have many more like it.
