Standing outside in front of the hotel David patiently waited for the police to arrive. He was a bit surprised that they showed up as quickly as they had. Two plain clothed detectives arrived in silver colored sedan. The tall blond was named Valentino. His partner a shorter dark haired gentleman introduced himself as Rocco. Both the detectives were handsome and friendly.
David had them follow him to the rental car while he told them about the morning's events. He explained the last thing he knew he and Brian were headed for a bite to eat when they had been approached by a rather good looking couple who had invited him and his husband to join them for a night on the town but that the two respectfully declined.
"We watched them as they walked around the front of the building and disappeared. The next thing I know I am waking up here in the passenger seat and Brian is nowhere to be found," Davis explained.
"After you awoke and discovered your husband was missing what did you do next?" Rocco inquired.
"Well then I tried calling him, but it went straight to his voice mail," David replied.
"And then what?" Valentino asked.
"Then I made my way back to the hotel and up to our room to see if he was there. That is when I discovered this under one of the pillows," David admitted handing them the blood stained note. Taking a pair of latex gloves from his inside jacket pocket Valentino put them before taking the note from David. Rocco pulled out a baggy from his jacket and the note was carefully placed inside the bag.
"Who besides you has touched the note since it was discovered?" Asked Valentino.
"No one, just me," David replied.
"Good, now may we check out your rental car?" asked Valentino.
"By all means, please do I need to know what happened to know what happened here and where my husband is," David pleaded while motioning them over to the car.
"Whose emesis is this?" asked Rocco standing above the spot where David had vomited a short time before.
"It's mine, I felt violently ill the minute I came to," David admitted.
"Sounds to me like you were drugged," Valentino replied.
"Let me get a look at you," he continued. Stepping up to David Valentino gently grabbed his hands and began looking over his arms.
"Ah yes see this tiny puncture wound here in the crook of your left arm," the detective pointed out showing it to David.
"I never noticed it," David pointed out. Moving around to David's back side Valentino began inspecting the back of his head.
"Double whammy. Looks as though you took a good knock on the head as well. You were probably hit over the head and then drugged to keep you down," Valentino pointed out.
"Hey come check this out," Rocco hollered over to his partner from the driver's side of the car.
"What you got there?" Valentino asked while making his way over to where the other detective was standing.
"Blood stains. It looks as though our friend David over here was not the only one that took a good blow to the head," Rocco announced.
David's knees nearly buckled upon hearing Brian had been hurt. His mind began to race with horrible images of Brian being knocked unconscious and helplessly drug off to God only knows where.
