Author's Note / Preface

PREFACE.

there will be mature themes in this story including but not limited to: violence, sexuality, and strong language. this is your warning.

I’ll preface by saying this will NOT be like any other werewolf story on wattpad. The specifics are very different, and for ease of understanding I’ll list the things you WILL NOT be seeing here.

  1.     You will not see any magically-enforced obedience in this story. Real wolves are not forced to no matter what obey their superiors; they do so because it makes them feel comfortable and keeps them protected to have the strength of their pack, and challenging the hierarchy could get them killed or chased off. In this book you will see no “alpha commands” that make the pack obey whether they want to or not.

  2.     There is no “mind-link” in this story. My werewolves cannot read each other’s minds as a human or as a wolf. Their communication is completely ordinary and takes place the same way conversation does in present times; if they’re far away from each other they use their phones. In wolf form they are also ordinary wolves- albeit bigger and stronger than a wild wolf- and communicate through body language and noises.

  3.     The alpha female is not called the “Luna.” I mean really, where did that even come from? I don’t understand why every author wants to have their own individual stories but don’t try to break away from this. 

  4.     “Mates” do not exist. My werewolves fall in love the same way everyone else does, and not with a single look or smell.

  5.     My characters do not have their “wolf” inside of them in their human forms. They will not have any inner dialogue with said “wolf” nor are their wolf personas separate from them in any way.

  6.    This world is a fantasy world with multiple paranormal races thrown in. Some you'll hear about in passing, some you may encounter, and some will not be mentioned at all. Either way, assume that everyone you meet is not human. The part of the world relevant to us is separated into two "lands" (Think Canada/America) referred to as the Northlands and the Southlands. There may be other continents, but we'll ignore them for now.

  7.     There is only two werewolf packs that are known about and relevant. One that leads the Northlands and one that leads the Southlands. All werewolves either live with their respective packs or are nomadic. In general, rogues are free to come and go as they please as long as they respect the rules the packs instill on their territory.

   Hey there guys! This is my first time trying to write something so I figured Wattpad would be a friendly place to start out. I have no idea how anything works though; so if anyone has any tips feel free to share!

   Anyway, I've been working on this plot for months. I hope you guys like it. ;)
